Burners get hot and does the job. Easy to clean and looks good.
THIS WAS INSTALLED ONE WEEK AGO! I HAVE COOKED ON IT 3 TIMES...since we are retired and eat out a lot. We have polished and cleaned it only with the cleaner that came with it. I have never spilled anything or made a mess on it in the week we have had it! Yet, there are several scratch's and one pit on the surface. The surface is just plain miserable to keep clean as every little speck of dusk can be seen and it smears and smudges something terrible. It is very irritating to me trying to keep it shiny but I can not live with the fact that in a week's time it has scratch's on it. What will it look like in a month or 2 months or a year? Our pots and pans are approved for a glass cooktop and are flat..but they are 7 years old. We paid for the cooktop, the warranty, the installation and now we are going to buy all new pots and pans.... but I am very doubtful that it will be the solution. The cooktop seems to cook ok and it does boil water fast if that is all you want from your cooktop. I bought it thinking it would add to the beauty of my kitchen that I am updating...but at this rate it will be a real eye sore!! What can you do to help me GE? Did you stop quality control on the glass top of your cooktops? Did I just get one that should not have passed quality control??? I am kicking myself all over for not checking this out more thoroughly before buying a GE cooktop.

Great cooktop
|I can't be happier with my new cooktop, it is a bit slow to heat, but once it does it's amazing, it holds the heat very good so it's great for stir fry and sauteed dishes, I also welcomed the powerboil feature.
Poor counter flow
|Stove top did not fit flush with counter as I thought it would. There is a step up from the counter which leaves the fragile edges exposed o damage. Clean-up is very cumbersome. In order to return white stove space to semi-white, you must clean with a razor and lots of elbow grease. Would not buy this product again.
Simple, versatile, beautiful, and functional
|Its simple and clean design is beautiful and functional. Easy to use and clean and making cooking a real pleasure.
Design Oversight
|The white lettering that labels the knob positions is way too light for good readability. As a design engineer myself, I wonder how the cooktop designers could not have noticed. Otherwise the cooktop is fine and works well.
Temperatures controls do not work properly
|Temperature gauge does not seem to work properly. Low temperatures do not seem to work. Stays hot and continues to have food boiling.
