Install your GE Appliances Black 30" Under the Cabinet Hood in 10 minutes or less. It's so easy you can do it yourself.
No More Smoke
The 310-CFM venting system pulls smoke, grease, odors and moisture out of the kitchen and away from your food with 4 speed options including the boost option to get it clean faster.
Easy to Use
Electronic backlit controls are easy to use and add a sophisticated look to your kitchen. Plus, you can keep the light on in your kitchen with dual halogen lighting that includes a nightlight mode.
Easy to install yourself but can be installed professionally on the least expensive side. Buttons are easy to control and the auto fan shut off is pretty neat!
GE range hood is very noisy, like a jet taking off and essentially only draw cooking vapors on the left side. BTW: Oddly, the GE cook top has the large burner for frying and boiling pasta in the right side. Also, don't be fooled by two filters, in my opinion the right one is useless, a poor design. Even though we have a external vent, it blew vapors back in room. To fix it, the installers put duct tape over the vent into the kitchen. When I tried to replace it, GE customer service representative informed me that GE doesn't have a customer satisfaction guarantee for its appliances. However, GE is going to send a technician out to determine whether the appliance is working as designed. What happens when it just a bad design? It appears to be a builder-grade product. We are extremely dissatisfied with product.
I like the hood because it has two sturdy filters beneath, has the controls out in front and has two bright lights.
Like the way the fans work, the hood looks, the color, the finish and the lights.
I researched literally a few dozen range hoods and settled on this GE model. It has excellent exhaust capabilities and is very efficient. The exhaust has 3 basic speeds and a turbo boost in the high position. The turbo is a bit noisy but it really works and clears the air quickly. The halogen lights are excellent, they could be a bit closer together because they shine towards the perimeter of the range leaving the center area a little darker. It's not that the center is dark, but the lights are so bright that the perimeter is very bright. All said and done, I would buy this unit again.
It isn't as efficient as the previous pull out range hood I had (no longer available) but as a replacement, it runs very nice and the price ce was right. The dealer w also very helpful!
It was great -- for about 2 months. Now one of the lights is not working and I am unclear on how to replace it. New lights every month or so?
