I am really enjoying this washer that I have just purchased. It washes clothes without having them hang up on a middle wringer and gets them clean. I am not a fan of a lot of bells and whistles which you find on many washers these days, but this one has just enough for the features I use. I like the fact that you can soak and give extra water and extra rinse. I have read reviews that say it is very noisy. To be honest, I had an older front loader and it does not seem any more noisy that I am accustom too which I thought was average on noise. I do like the clear glass feature to check out the clothes while it is washing and also like the fact that it can be stopped and unlocked to add items. It feels sturdy and the inside tub is huge compared to most washers. Sheets and comforters can be placed together without an issue especially since you have the extra fill feature.
I've had this washer a few months and am so disappointed. I can't even do a load of sheets (flat sheet, fitted sheet and 3 pillow cases) without having it sound like it's coming through the floor and it moves so much it bangs into my new washer and turns sideways in my laundry room. If I try a duvet cover, it does the same and then doesn't rinse so I have a 50 lb water logged duvet cover to deal with. My old cheap washing machine handled these items easily (not too heavy). Also, the normal sounds of the machine sound like you're having an MRI. It's quite comical when you are on the phone with someone and they say "what is that noise"?
I bought my GE as a replacement for another brand of HE top load washer and I love it!! I’ve had it for about 2 months and it works beautifully and more than meets the needs of my family
It's noisy, gets off balance easily & shakes a lot. Other than that, so far it's ok.
the softner dispensing is almost useless. more often than not as i pour the softner into the dispenser it immediately empties itself into the washer before the washer is even on. it takes so little softner that it really makes no difference to my clothes and washed items, they are same with or without the softner. oter than that it is an ok machine.
I bought this unit for a rental house and after two months the top latch auto locked and I have to wait two weeks for a service visit. The tenant can't unlock the door to get the wet clothes out and GE Support is not responsive. I would not recommend any GE appliance after this experience. And Sears repair service is unacceptable, maybe they are booked up supporting DEFECTIVE GE appliances.
I got my washer today and was so happy to start doing my laundry left it unattended came back in 5 mins to met a pool of water or should I say a swimming pool on my floor I called customer service and was asked by the not so lovely person “do you have a husband or a son that can look at it “ sorry I didn’t know that was a requirement to purchase a washer I am so frustrated right now.
