I was worried about buying winter tires for the chicagoland area because they say they wear easily, but i took a chance after i noticed that i kept buying really good name brand tires and they would be horrible on rain and snow, best decision i took because overall they have lasted me 3 years, just bought another set and will never buy another brand again, hopefully general tire dont discontinue this brand or change the way they make them.
I had originally purchased a set of 4 for an 02 Impreza Outback which was totaled shortly after installing those and sold them to a buddy who immediately put them on a Scion XB and swears by them as far as quiet regarding road noise traction and handling in all weather.
I purchased another set for my 05 Legacy Outback wagon and put some 12,000 miles on those before removing them upon the sale of my car and found them to be quite remarkable in all weather conditions. I also noticed a very low noise level and not a lot of we're at 12000 miles considering the aggressive tread pattern. All in all very impressive tire for the money. I bought another set for my girlfriend's Forester and she loves them they've been on her car for two seasons now and show very little wear after almost 18000 miles.
This is my fifth set of General Altima’s Artic Tire’s and absolutely love them. Bought them for an F250 to plow snow and am ready to by another set for my 2016 Rogue in the fall.
We have only ever put General snow tires on my wife's car. In northeastern PA we get heavy snow and she has never been stuck. Will buy again when neccessary
I live on a fairly Steep Hill never failed this winter to get me to the top
