Hamilton Beach Convection oven, is excellent!!

I am a caregiver for my mom. she has always kept her pots and pans in the stove for storage. This meant everytime I wanted to bake something I had to remove all the pots and pans. For this reason I bought the this H B oven. This oven works so well, I never even think of my gas oven anymore. The food comes out so much better with this oven. I cant even cook and my food comes out like a pro! I love the stainless still outside and the way the oven is easy to clean. I am more then happy with this oven and the value is great. I do not think there is any oven that offers a better value.

Faulty unit or faulty design?

I should have returned this unit when I got it as I found a loose screw in the cabinet and the unit did not heat to the maximum 450 as advertised. The oven has never worked properly, heating only to maximum of 350. Toasting bread is not an option as the unit is too large to toast evenly, and the convection fan sounds like the oven is about to take off. 90 days after purchase, too late to return, the unit began to heat inconstantly: from the top only sometimes; from the bottom only sometimes; from both top and bottom rarely. From that time on, I was able to use the oven only as a warming element as it consistently could achieve the kind of low temps my regular oven can't. The very day the one-year warrantee expired, the unit stopped heating altogether. Perfect timing!
