The Hoover Max Extract Upright Floor Cleaner does exactly what you bought it for, it works. In our home this floor cleaner is better than having a company come clean your floors for you. With three dogs you don't want to wait days to clean up accidents but best of all this thing actually does what you expect it to do, it cleans. It's also tough as nails. With three dogs and a natural desert back yard this thing gets a workout almost daily and being easy to use is a big plus.
The brushes stopped working the first area rug we cleaned. Sears were great when I returned the product. Mark went out of his way to insure we were happy and it wasn't even his department. The part for the brushes is a cheap plastic...shame on Hoover. Sears deserve lots of credit for really providing great customer service.
Poorly designed. Long time know problem that bare floor attachment does not attach, etc. overall very poorly designed.
Tried out immediately. Works great. Cleaned up pet messes, dirty spots & pathways. Used much less shampoo than recommended & worked better than recommended amount. Disassembled easily for cleaning.
have used 3 times for carpet had small leak at the back.
today for the first time wanted to clean sofa, hooked it up and water keeps coming out soaked the sofa,so I decide to do the carpet since it was full of cleaner, walked to start shampooing and water is poring out the back soaking the carpet.Very up set.
I bought this unit to replace an older Hoover that I wore out. The dirty water tank is much easier to remove and clean. However, the gasket that creates the seal for suction has the tendency to unseat and then suction is lost until seated correctly. Have not used the hard floor feature or the upholstery attachments yet. It is very loud but for the amount of time it is used, tolerable. My rating is due to the fact that the clean water never stops coming out until the tank until empty once the unit is turned on. Only then can you get the water out of carpet. I completely saturated first bedroom carpeting. It took 2 days to dry with fans and furnace on. After I figured out what was going on, I adjusted my cleaning process. It still left the carpet very wet and took 24+ hours to dry. On the positive side, my carpets are much cleaner and the pile has new life. Except for the water issue, I like the cleaning results and features of this unit.
