I got this game from kmart.com in December to put under the Christmas tree for the whole family and it has been played many, many times since, often into the wee hours---very addicting. It's also fun for family & friend gatherings because a lot of people can play (we've done up to 12 people). I had my eye on this game for a while and was able to finally get it at a much lower price than anywhere else by purchasing it at a holiday price combined with a $3.00 off Shop Your Way coupon. Total was only about $10.00---amazing! The object of Sequence is to get five chips in a row on a game board that has playing cards printed on it. Each person is dealt a certain number of playing cards depending on how many players there are. The cards you're dealt determines where on the board you put your chips. (Note: The chips are small and, as such, represent a choking hazard; not for little ones.) Like chess, there is a bit of strategy in figuring your moves out in advance to either build a sequence or block your opponents, and it gets really interesting as the board fills up. However, unlike chess, there's also luck involved because of wild cards. Seems like just as you get your strategy set to win, another player ends up removing one of your chips or using a wild card to pull the rug out from under your plan and win their own sequence. Lots and lots of fun! Overall, we expect this game to become one of our family's most used out of a very large collection of games.
