The big wheels made it easy to roll around my backyard.
First one came in damaged with corners crushed....we refused it and haven't seen the replacement yet....but our account has been debited for the purchase....I wonder when or if we'll get it
Here is my complaint to Sears:
I ordered a Joola Outdoor Pro-Plus table tennis table as a Christmas present to our 4 boys.
It was delivered on December 6. The item was propped up against the wall with the damaged side of the box hidden. The product is extremely heavy, I estimate it to be about 300lbs. I could not move it by myself.
We managed to slide the box into the house leaning it against the wall in the same manner in which it was delivered, which hid the damage to the box.
When we went to open the box on Christmas morning, we flipped it over to cut along the package tape lines, we could see the box was damaged. It looked like it was done by forklift prongs. When we opened the box, the damage went all the way through to the table surface.
I contacted customer service immediately. I have been told that because I did not spot the damage within 3 days of delivery, Sears will not honor exchanging the product. This is not fair for these reasons:
1. I was unaware that I needed to spot damage within 3 days. With help from an online customer service representative, I was able to find this policy at the BOTTOM of your return statement. If this pool icy was that critical, it should have been put in RED letters at the top of the delivery notification email, not hidden at the bottom of a statement which is only accessible through a link. The email about delivery which you did send, listed a section called "customer responsibilities." It has 4 bullet points. None of them tell the customer to immediately check for damage upon delivery.
2. I believe your delivery person intentionally hid the damage by placing the damage against the wall where it could not be easily seen. As the item is EXTREMELY heavy, the chances that we would find it were drastically reduced.
3. I bought this item in good faith during the period for extended returns due to Christmas. I am not asking for a refund, I am asking to have the product I ordered, delivered undamaged. This item was an excellent deal being almost 50% off, but it is not a deal for a table that is damaged to the point that it is unusable. I wouldn’t have paid $410 for this table as it is.
I would like an immediate exchange for this same table, undamaged.
