I received this bread maker as a birthday present to replace my old Welbilt bread maker. What a difference! The removable non-stick pan makes clean-up a breeze. I've made 3 different types of bread so far, white, French and raisin, and every loaf comes out perfect. The outside is crisp while the inside is uniformly soft and fluffy, not at all dried out like the Welbilt machine made. When I used the Welbilt, I had to frequently help it mix the ingredients thoroughly. No need with this machine. I can heartily recommend this bread maker and I look forward to trying new recipes.
I bought it less than a year ago, used it regularly, almost on a daily basis. It worked for about 6-8 months, then started to be VERY noisy, then finally the kneading part just fell out of the bottom of the pan. The metal around it broke into million pieces. If you hold it up with your hand, you can still insert the pan into its place, but most of the time the metal thing just falls out, water leaking from the pan all over the kitchen. Another made in china piece of scrap metal.
I purchased this Kenmore Elite bread maker a few years ago to replace my old Kenmore bread maker which was a much more basic model when someone in my household was diagnosed with celiacs disease. I needed to learn how to prepare gluten free type of breads on the quick. My old machine struggled with the new more dense Gluten free dough s. While doing my research I came across this highly recommended Kenmore Elite machine. Wow I love it! I learn how to make my own gluten-free type flowers and am always experimenting with the different combinations. This machine really makes it much easier to do and is almost goof Proof. It's also great for regular bread mixtures as well as making Pizza doughs, and even and Morrison a few cakes. I highly recommend it!
Using a bread maker is not cheating. I bake a lot during the holidays sending out Norwegian breads to family across the country. For six years I've used the dough cycle to mix and knead the bread for the first rise. I remove the dough for the second rise and usually start another batch in the bread maker right away. I have great results with dough for french baguettes and even pretzels. I've bake whole loaves in it and find the results to be excellent. The bake is consistent ... no worries!
I am satisfy with this bread maker based on its price. There are some common menu available which is enough for family use. Inside container with non-sticker coating that make wash very easy.
It's a large unit, so if you do not have a lot of counter space or cupboard space, double check before you buy. Excellent, directions very simple to follow, control panel buttons are labeled well, and the bread it makes!....mmmmm.
