My mother in law and I were hunting for the perfect Toaster in Sears on fine day. We happened across this fine model and decided it was the best Sears could offer and the best we could afford. We slogged on to the register, fighting back zombie-like shoppers in their dazed stumble towards the front of the line. FINALLY! My new toaster was bought and brought home. I knew immediately we had chosen a great toaster because of the delightful little bagel button that my son could not stop talking about. Toast comes out perfectly browned and never burnt (unless I want it to be). All in all, our adventure through Sears that day was worth the trouble. Now, we feast on delicious toasted things!
I am 59 , have had many toasters in my life, and I can honestly say this is the worst toaster I have ever had. After much run- around on the phone trying to return I finally just took it back to the store- again, a big nightmare- but did get replacement and guess what? It does exactly the same as other one. It only toasts one side and you have to watch it or it will burn that side so I have to "babysit" it...toast one side, turn it and toast the other side. Now, I just sit it on the bagel setting (still watching) and let it toast and then, turn the toast but this worthless piece of junk is going to have to go back. We will see how that goes- if it takes 40 minutes to get my money back- since they say it has a 2 year warranty and I purchased the extra protection when I got the replacement. I don't understand the great reviews given- because this toaster is AWFUL!
my last one was a mistake got it on sale not a Kenmore and it lasted a year. I am sure my Kenmore will last way longer like all of my Kenmore appliances. love it!
