I'm pleased to see that in forgoing the stainless steel interior to save money, I still got a dishwasher that cleans well. It cleans the dishes well though the cycle is long (2 hours) and plastic items aren't dry. I am delighted to have sparkly glassware again.
Interesting that there are many reviews saying the same thing about this dishwasher! We purchased this brand new from Sears less than 2 years ago. It stopped working recently and we paid the Sears repairman to come out. He gave us a quote for over $550 to repair it!!! We only paid $400 for it to begin with. Now we are stuck with a beautiful but worthless hunk of metal. I just purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher to replace it with. I will not sink more money into buying this same Kenmore! Very disappointed.
ll of the appliances that I have purchased from Sears have broken within months of the warranty expiring. In each situation, it was the computer brain that malfunctioned. I have had to replace four dishwashers, three dryers, and four washing machines, within the last ten years. Each of these pieces of junk was purchased from Sears. Now, my dishwasher, which had to have it's computer brain fixed while it was under warranty is exhibiting the same symptoms but due to Sears pathetic warranties they are refusing to fix a problem that was never fixed in the first place because if it had been fixed, or if it had been a product that was built to last, it would not have broken a second time in a very short period of time. I'm glad Sears is going bankrupt. They are not eh company they used to be. I want to be reimbursed for my appliances so I can purchase them from a company that stands by its products and not one that is into a get quick scheme and trying to force people t buy extended warranties that cost more or just as much as the product. I am also posting this on social media as well as Sears website.
Our Kenmore 13473 has been a nightmare. We originally purchased in March 2016 and took delivery in April 2016. From day 1, it never worked properly. I called to let them know, and they said they'd send a technician, but they did not make our appointment a priority, and it took weeks for a technician to come by for the diagnostic. (Meaning I could not return the defunct product due to the 30 day return policy.) Over the course of 8 months, we've had 5 different service visits and replaced multiple parts, including the pump and computer. Our frustration over the inoperative machine was further exacerbated by the difficulty we had scheduling the repairs - each time I called the service department, it would take between 2 weeks to over a month to get a technician to my house. In August of 2016, I expressed my dissatisfaction to Sears customer service, and was told that they wanted to "give the repair their best shot," but if it still didn't work after 6 repairs, Sears would replace the machine. Finally, in December of 2016, a technician was able to get the machine to work properly (on the fifth visit), but it only worked for a few months before going out again. Since the most recent repair fixed the machine long enough to ride out the warranty, Sears now refuses to replace or repair the machine, and they want to charge us for a diagnostic even though the dishwasher has a long history of not working properly. Terrible product, terrible customer service. We will never buy from Sears again.
Bought this from Sears 2.5 year ago. Took the 2 yr warranty - had one service call and then we didn't renew the extended warranty in june 2017. Broke in Nov 2017 - paid 107$ to Sears service to be told it was scrapped (Top Sprinkler motor burnt). Sears gave us a coupon for buying another. Choose Bosch, since they are the best: Sears's price is the machine + 5 yrs warranty + tax, not delivered, not installed for $611$. Same machine at ******: The machine + 5 yr warranty+installation + new hoses + taking the old one and no tax since it's considered house improvement in NY State, total is $585 !!!! How can you be wrong? Shop before buying!!!!!
