Good Capacity. In the bottom rack, we can fit about 8 heavy, large glass iced tea sized tumblers, and 5 full sized plates plus silverware. In the top we usually fit 8 16 oz coffee mugs and 4 small bowls. Cleans very well, and uses very little water. We tried leaving dried milk in the coffee mugs and normal wash cleans them entirely using very little detergent (we use cascade). To the reviewer who said it doesn't clean, it's probably hooked up to your cold water line, you should check it. It's supposed to be hooked up to the hot water, and if your hot water takes a while to heat up, run the hot water in the tap until it's hot before turning the machine on. Very quiet. It's used in an office kitchen and you can't hear it out of the kitchen, and can hold a telephone conversation next to it. No, it doesn't leak. Not even a little. ****The Quirks**** The silverware tray comes with a removable top to separate spoons so they don't stick together, but the holes aren't big enough to hold most spoons, so you'll want to take it off, which you can do easily. Good idea, poor execution. Unless your silverware has narrow handles, skip it. The bottom rack is rolling on a track that is only underneath the wheels, instead of a track that is over - and - under the wheels, like most dishwashers. The over and under design of the track keeps the rack from tipping down when it's halfway pulled out if loaded heavier in the front. The bottom rack of this dishwasher doesn't have an over and under track, so the front of the bottom rack tends to tip into the gap between the track and the door if it's leaded front-heavy, but there is a usually- easy solution: load the bottom rack from the back first. The problem will go away entirely if it's rear-heavy and not front-heavy. The problem is, not everything fits in the rear as well as it does in the front, so if what you are putting in first fits better in front, you're stuck with a bottom rack that tips down slightly and gets stuck when it hits the door. Again, poorly executed, but at least when you know how to deal with it, you can. We have heavy tumblers that tend to be used first, so those go in the back of the bottom rack and we never see the problem. Your mileage may vary. So 4 stars overall.
I purchased this new Kenmore dishwasher to replace a Kenmore that we had for over 20 years. After following the installation instructions I was ready to test the dishwasher. The first step is to pour 2 quarts of water inside the unit. To my shock, the water poured right out the back of the unit and down inside my cabinet. After the clean up, I pulled the unit out, unhooked the electrical and plumbing to repeat the test. Again the water poured out the back of the unit. I could plainly see that it was pouring out of the connection from the pump motor to the upper spin unit. It is unbelievable to me that this unit was not checked at the factory. If they had poured a little water into the unit they would have seen the unit fail and would not have sent it out for delivery to a customer. I have requested a full refund and a pickup of the dishwasher, I want nothing to do with Kenmore, especially after being told that they don't even build appliances any longer. They contract them out. It is truly sad what has happened to a once great company like Sears. Solid brand names like Kenmore have been reduced to second rate quality items. My original Kenmore dishwasher lasted 20 years, this one didn't even last 20 minutes.
One of the 2 clips on the inside back of the dishwasher that holds the top rack to the Upper Spray snapped off. I am saying no to recommendation until I see how this issue gets resolved. Other wise works good so far. Purchased 8/2018 but do not use often.
I bought this dishwasher as a Christmas present for my daughter-in -law. I bought it on Dec. 8th to make sure I had it before Christmas. It was delivered on time with no damage to the box. When I opened it to install it Dec 26th, the back of the unit was crushed and badly damaged. Sears customer service refused to exchange, fix or refund my money. I can't tell you how good the dishwasher might have been, but I will never do business with Sears again. I would never recommend this to a friend.
It’s small but does the job. Fits perfectly where we needed it.
I Purchased a compact dishwasher from Sears about a month ago. The gentleman that delivered the dishwasher were very courteous and polite and made sure that asked me if I had any concerns. I am very pleased with how it functions. I do not believe it is very noisy and I am pleased with how it looks in my kitchen. Installation was not too bad
