Decent Electric Kettle

This electric kettle serves its one purpose well- boiling water quickly. Despite the claim on the box that it can boil water in 90 seconds, I found that at sea level, using the minimum 0.5L amount of water, it took about 3 minutes, twice that time. 1.25L takes about 7.5 minutes. But it is still fast enough. The digital controls allow you to adjust the boiling temperature and the keep-warm temperature, and you can also switch modes from boiling to keep-warm. The kettle will automatically switch to keep-warm after reaching the boiling temperature, but there is no alert that it has reached boiling, aside from the boiling sound stopping and the green light inside turning off. The outside of the pot and the lid get quite hot, so be careful not to burn yourself.

Why no automatic shut off?

The kettle does what it's supposed to do (boil water) well enough but has added electronic features that raise the price but seem quite illogical. Why have the ability to extend the boil time for higher altitudes when it doesn't have an automatic shut off feature (except when the kettle boils dry)? Auto shut off is the most useful feature an electric kettle can have.
