With your choice of auto and deep fill water levels, you control just how much water is needed for your next load of laundry.
A convenient dispensing system adds fabric softener to the wash basket at the opportune time – saving you the headache of having to add it in yourself.
All you have to do is turn a dial to select your preferred water temperature – cold, cool darks, cool lights, warm or hot – the choice is yours.
So, I did not buy this washer online nor did I order it in the store. It was a return washer and was on clearance for less than $300.00. I was anxious about purchasing this washer because of all of the bad reviews. I am satisfied with my purchase. Could it be better? Yes, however, some of the problems that people say they are experiencing have just not happened with this machine. I am following the instruction manual in order to learn how to use this washer correctly. At this moment, I only have hot water hooked up to it. Some of the settings don't seem to want to work, but I am assuming it is because of not having the cold water hooked up. Now, the settings that I do use work perfectly if you follow the instructions. I cannot reiterate how important it is to follow the manual. FOLLOW THE MANUAL. A lot of the problems that people are complaining about would be eliminated: Residue on clothes- Did you wash your washer before you ever put a piece of clothing in it? It specifically states that you must use the bulky setting when moving to a new location and you are supposed to use the machine wash cycle if you are using it for the first time. Cold water is probably not going to help here, just saying. Cold water does not dissolve any oils or residues left from manufacturing. Unusual sounds- It specifically says in the manual it will have odd noises, humming and whirring. Really people? You are that affected by noises? If it is still working that probably means there is nothing wrong. Dry clothes- Those of you that don't have the deep fill option, maybe you should go trade yours for the model that does have this. I can't speak on clothes having dry spots because of the HE factor. I have deep fill and even when I use the non-deep fill options I still don't have a problem. Off balance- this is a washer, not a dumpster. The manual says to layer them loosely and to not pack the clothes in it. The only thing that is concerning me about this washer is that the cycles can sometimes get confused and at the end of the wash I have to hold the pause button to get everything cleared out and back to start. That is something that needs to be checked by a technician and luckily I have at least a one-year warranty for that. Long wash times- I have not had this problem. My mom's older Kenmore takes a long time and I was expecting the same thing, but her's is because of water pressure. The one thing I really like about this washer is that it has some cycle settings to help people out when the washer is acting a little wonky. They are the rinse-spin and drain-spin options. I have only had to use this one time and that was the first time it was used and my boyfriend did not put enough clothes in the wash for the cycle he chose. It did not drain and spin correctly, but voila, I put it on drain-spin and the problem was solved easily. My take on it is that there are a lot of people that are not following the manual. Sorry if that is you, but it is what it is.
The auto fill never has enough water for clothes to wash properly. Makes loud noises. This is my second service call since we purchased machine 2/2017. To make matters worse, we purchase the Sears protection plan $199.00 The washing machine stopped working we called for service, we have to wait a week before a service Technician can trouble shoot the machine. All around awful experience.
Love the washer. Different from what I was use to before, but works really well. Has a huge tub. Did my pillows and comforter with ease. Am pleased.
I absolutely love this washer! I wanted a washer that was easy-going and NOT finnicky, the way most new washers are these days. I also needed something that gave me more control and that could switch easily back and forth from rinse cycle to wash and back again. I don't think I have a single negative thing to say about this washer. It is the perfect mix between required modern water efficiency and your regular "old-fashioned" effective washer. I did read the whole manual (it's not that long) before starting it, have followed the few simple instructions, and have had zero problems. I am especially very happy to have found a modern washer that easily washes cloth diapers! We highly recommend!!
Item is fine overall, however description doesn't clearly state it has an agitator. I thought I bought one without and was surprised upon delivery that it has one. Had to double check online and only when I expanded the specs did I find it. Others were clearly marked. Also, I took a day off work for delivery and they crashed the truck. After arguing with shipping, then customer service, and being told that "Sears doesn't refund for inconveniences," I escalated the issue to corporate, who also did nothing. Buy from anywhere else but Sears.
Apparently the guy doing the installation never heard of SharkBite fittings? My wife called me at work and told me we needed a plumber to fix the plumbing before they would install it because when he tried to take off the old lines they were rotating (that's how SharkBite fittings work) and he could go no further...lol train your staff!!
Had to do it myself even though I paid for the install...
i bought a Kenmore heavy duty super capacity plus washer 21 years ago very similar to this one. I STILL have it!!! It is working just fine! If it ever stops working, I will definitely purchase a new one.
