Good Washer

So, I did not buy this washer online nor did I order it in the store. It was a return washer and was on clearance for less than $300.00. I was anxious about purchasing this washer because of all of the bad reviews. I am satisfied with my purchase. Could it be better? Yes, however, some of the problems that people say they are experiencing have just not happened with this machine. I am following the instruction manual in order to learn how to use this washer correctly. At this moment, I only have hot water hooked up to it. Some of the settings don't seem to want to work, but I am assuming it is because of not having the cold water hooked up. Now, the settings that I do use work perfectly if you follow the instructions. I cannot reiterate how important it is to follow the manual. FOLLOW THE MANUAL. A lot of the problems that people are complaining about would be eliminated: Residue on clothes- Did you wash your washer before you ever put a piece of clothing in it? It specifically states that you must use the bulky setting when moving to a new location and you are supposed to use the machine wash cycle if you are using it for the first time. Cold water is probably not going to help here, just saying. Cold water does not dissolve any oils or residues left from manufacturing. Unusual sounds- It specifically says in the manual it will have odd noises, humming and whirring. Really people? You are that affected by noises? If it is still working that probably means there is nothing wrong. Dry clothes- Those of you that don't have the deep fill option, maybe you should go trade yours for the model that does have this. I can't speak on clothes having dry spots because of the HE factor. I have deep fill and even when I use the non-deep fill options I still don't have a problem. Off balance- this is a washer, not a dumpster. The manual says to layer them loosely and to not pack the clothes in it. The only thing that is concerning me about this washer is that the cycles can sometimes get confused and at the end of the wash I have to hold the pause button to get everything cleared out and back to start. That is something that needs to be checked by a technician and luckily I have at least a one-year warranty for that. Long wash times- I have not had this problem. My mom's older Kenmore takes a long time and I was expecting the same thing, but her's is because of water pressure. The one thing I really like about this washer is that it has some cycle settings to help people out when the washer is acting a little wonky. They are the rinse-spin and drain-spin options. I have only had to use this one time and that was the first time it was used and my boyfriend did not put enough clothes in the wash for the cycle he chose. It did not drain and spin correctly, but voila, I put it on drain-spin and the problem was solved easily. My take on it is that there are a lot of people that are not following the manual. Sorry if that is you, but it is what it is.

Awful Washer.

The auto fill never has enough water for clothes to wash properly. Makes loud noises. This is my second service call since we purchased machine 2/2017. To make matters worse, we purchase the Sears protection plan $199.00 The washing machine stopped working we called for service, we have to wait a week before a service Technician can trouble shoot the machine. All around awful experience.

Love this washer

|

All I needed was a basic, inexpensive washer. This one fits the bill. No problems at all. I love how the lid only locks when in "spin" mode. Makes it easy to "add to" while washer is filling up.
I've had no issues with the "auto fill", but additional water can be added by resetting the load capacity. As for noise? Not a problem since the laundry area is in the garage.
Love the dual action agitator...I honestly think my clothes are the cleanest they been in a long time

Another great Kenmore product!

|

I love this washer!
I have grown up with Kenmore products, and once again they have not disappointed me. Clearly those that posted that it was loud and didn't use enough water, don't understand how HE washers work. I am able to use the Express cycle on everything and it cleans my clothes perfectly.

DO NOT BUY!!

|

Worst machine I ever had. Returned it. It would not fill up on most was cycles found 2 that would fill the machine with water but then it barely moves in any of the wash cycles. I know the new HE machines are different and have to get use to them but this one is not right clothes would not get clean had to keep checking the water levels by opening the machine when washing see if it filled sometimes it did other times it would not. washing clothes is no fun task and this machine made it a nightmare. DO NOT BUY!!
