I don't understand all the negative reviews for this washing machine. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have had zero problems with it thus far and have had it for a few months now. Yes, it sounds different than "regular" agitator machines, but that's because it is first weighing the clothing to detect how much water to use. There are tons of functions on this machine as well and the drum is huge. I honestly don't think it is loud or annoying and is actually quite calming. My clothing comes out perfectly clean and rinsed. I suggest reading the manual and knowing all the features about this machine prior to using, so that you have a good understanding of how it works and how you can get the most out of it. So far, I really love this washing machine.
Only sad that I have to even give it one star. I purchased this new set a year ago....and just barely went to check on a load. The cycle is nearly finished and when I opened the lid and - as usual-I can still see dry spots on some of the items. Ridiculous!! In trying to be 'highly efficient' ---the machine is supposed to sense how much water to use- which is never more than a couple of inches. Yes, I have had Sears' service people come check to see if my machine is defective- NOPE!! Apparently they are all this horrible- mine is nothing special. I wash most loads twice (ruining my clothes twice as fast- thanks Sears!) just to get them halfway clean/decent. The machine also seems to collect lint at the bottom of the machine- it doesn't drain out well and then redeposits on the clothes sitting on the bottom of the load. Which requires yet ANOTHER wash with them on top, hoping to get the lint off- which only works sometimes because, remember the top clothes sometimes don't even get enough water on them to get clean in the first place. A never-ending cycle of excruciating laundry-frustration!! This is without a doubt the worst purchase I have ever made. Save yourselves!! RUN AWAY FROM THIS MACHINE!!!!!
I bought this for my brother's new home purchase. He chose this because it look like the one our Mom has that has lasted more than 20 years already. The screen letting water in should be cleaned yearly for mineral residue but that is not the machine problem. My mom loves her washer and my brother will love this unit.
This is the worst washing machine I've ever owned. It is way to hard on clothes!! It actually ruins them!! I'm incredibly dissatisfied, Sears won't do anything because we were 1 day over the 30 in complaining about the machine. I'm literally throwing it in the garbage before it ruins anymore clothes!! We just got back from vacation and washed clothes, the first wash of a romper and there were 2 huge holes in it! It also ruins anything black!! My jeans are all ruined! I've replaced several articles of clothing already!! I recommend staying far away from this machine!! I would give it ZERO stars!!!
I purchased this washer and matching dryer almost 6 months ago. I must admit, I have never used such worthless pieces of garbage in my life. I understand that it's energy and water efficient, but good lord at least use enough water to saturate the clothes. There isn't any place to put fabric softener and if you use powder detergent you better put it in after there is ample water to dissolve it or your clothes come out with white powder stains. As for the dryer, well lets just say I could hang them in the rain forest and they would dry quicker. Avoid this combo at all cost. If I could give a negative star I would.
Does not do the job. May be fine for small loads, but not for medium or large loads...and forget bulky items. Put in a TWIN comforter, bulky setting--after it finished...the top was still dry. Doesn't clean well. No agitation--not enough water. Buy a front loader or the old fashioned kind with a real agitator. Something that actually moves the load. I put in a load of towels, one hand towel was folded..that's how it came out...still folded. Clean??
HATE this washer!!!!! It's LOUD and it takes too long to washer. I often us the express wash just to get it done faster. I don't like the idea of not being able to lift the lid to see how much water is inside to determine if I need to add more detergent. I've ALWAYS BEEN a Kenmore type of girl...VERY, VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I want my OLD washer back!
All of the negative reviews of this product are correct. IT DOES NOT WASH CLOTHES EFFECTIVELY AT ALL. As so many other reviewers have noted, the water level never rises high enough to allow the clothes to "float" and therefore they do not agitate. The top 2/3 of the load stay above the water level and never move about. Wish I had read the reviews first, before I had this piece of $hit delivered. I am waiting for their service center to open Monday to have to pay them to remove it and get it replaced with something that actually washes clothes. Don't buy into this "triple action" (washing???) machine ****. The triple action they are referring to is 1) empty your wallet, 2) waste your time and 3) return the useless product.
If you want more reasons than the one above, while pretending to wash clothes the machine buzzes, groans and grinds. If you don't have a door to your laundry room or the laundry has a door but is located near any living/sleeping areas, this thing sounds like a diesel engine with alarms going off. Quiet? Not hardly. Our old Kenmore washer with a real agitator that washed clothes made 10% of the noise this piece of **** makes. Way to go Sears. As if you weren't close enough to going out of business already.
Does not do the job. Does not get clothing clean. No control over water usage, soak time, or many other thing that need some input.
I bought this to replace a failing agitator washer that came with my house. I was looking for a high efficiency replacement that didn't break the bank. I am very satisfied with this washer. It uses much less water and is less noisy than what I was replacing. Even though it's a similar size as my old unit, it holds more clothes because there is no large agitator that takes up space in the center of the machine. My laundry comes out cleaner and dryer than ever before. The only downside is that a load takes approximately 30 minutes longer than with my old washer. But this is the case for all high efficiency units so I can live with this.
