I don't understand all the negative reviews for this washing machine. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have had zero problems with it thus far and have had it for a few months now. Yes, it sounds different than "regular" agitator machines, but that's because it is first weighing the clothing to detect how much water to use. There are tons of functions on this machine as well and the drum is huge. I honestly don't think it is loud or annoying and is actually quite calming. My clothing comes out perfectly clean and rinsed. I suggest reading the manual and knowing all the features about this machine prior to using, so that you have a good understanding of how it works and how you can get the most out of it. So far, I really love this washing machine.
Only sad that I have to even give it one star. I purchased this new set a year ago....and just barely went to check on a load. The cycle is nearly finished and when I opened the lid and - as usual-I can still see dry spots on some of the items. Ridiculous!! In trying to be 'highly efficient' ---the machine is supposed to sense how much water to use- which is never more than a couple of inches. Yes, I have had Sears' service people come check to see if my machine is defective- NOPE!! Apparently they are all this horrible- mine is nothing special. I wash most loads twice (ruining my clothes twice as fast- thanks Sears!) just to get them halfway clean/decent. The machine also seems to collect lint at the bottom of the machine- it doesn't drain out well and then redeposits on the clothes sitting on the bottom of the load. Which requires yet ANOTHER wash with them on top, hoping to get the lint off- which only works sometimes because, remember the top clothes sometimes don't even get enough water on them to get clean in the first place. A never-ending cycle of excruciating laundry-frustration!! This is without a doubt the worst purchase I have ever made. Save yourselves!! RUN AWAY FROM THIS MACHINE!!!!!
It's taking time to get used to all the interesting sounds this machine makes, but it works well.
My biggest complaint is that Sears won't install the machine without paying extra for the hoses, etc. I have woven stainless steel hoses that my plumber recommended, and I was forced to buy cheap rubber hoses in order to hook up the machine. I also had to by additional parts for my dryer that I knew wouldn't fit when the machine was installed. I would have given five stars if I hadn't had to spent an extra $40 for inferior or unnecessary parts.
piece of junk . 4 repair men in 45 days I have had the machine. Grease on clothes, stopped in the middle of cycle, does not spin out good, it gets stuck in the middle of wash cycle and does not stop They keep telling me nothing is wrong. I have called everyone but no results. I want a new machine. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER.
We purchased a Kenmore 41262 4.5cu.ft. Front-Load Washer at our local store in Newport, OR. After taking it home, we found it did not require enough water to activate our on-demand hot water heater. When we returned it, the store kept 15% of our $649.99 cost ($50 more than online) because it was used. We planned on picking up this other machine, as it would work with our heater, but chose to leave it. Won't be shopping at Sears anymore.
My old washer went out and after researching several models from different sites, I chose to buy this...along with the matching dryer. I am SO glad I made this choice! This washer is HUGE! We were without a washer for a week and are a family of 4. Keep in mind, one of which is a teenage girl. When Sears delivered this, we installed right away. I was able to do ALL of our laundry in just 2 loads. I was BLOWN away! I now ONLY do laundry once a week! It is so great to not have to do laundry every couple of days. The matching dryer is just as great. All those clothes get dry in just one cycle. So happy to have my time back!
I LOVE this washer! The only problem I have ever had in 3+ years of having it is occasionally the towels don't spin enough and they're saturated when the cycle is over. All I have to do is put it on again at rinse and spin and then it's ready to go. Minor issue for me and doesn't change my opinion of the machine, I absolutely love it. My MIL has the same machine and also loves it. Besides the small towel issue, never had a days trouble with it.
