I have run this washer through the first full weekend of having it with lots of different kinds of laundry to do. It is really easy to use. It is very quiet also. The spin cycle is really fast thus drying my clothes very well. More so compared with the old agitator washer machine I just got rid of. Very little time needed in the dryer. Just make sure you level the machine before you start washing or you will get some big shakes and or vibrations. Typical wash takes 53 minutes. Does a great job of cleaning clothes. We do not use a lot of HE detergent and our clothes come out smelling clean. Have not used the steam function yet but looking forward to that also. The basket in the machine is HUGE. Perfect for my family of four. Great machine and worth the money. No problems what so ever.
We are a farm family and you can imagine how the every day clothes look some days. I can use a whole bottle of stain remover and add Oxi Clean to the washer and the clothes still are not clean. My boys have soooo many stained shirts and jeans that they have to continue wearing. I have tried all kinds of options on the washer and nothing is working. I am so frustrated. If I could do washer shopping over again, I would not have even gone to Sears to look for a washer. If I could afford it, I would be buying a different washer. I have gone back to the Sears where I bought the washer with a load of unclean laundry and they laughed at me. Absolutely no help or suggestions from them. They acted like I did not know how to do laundry. Don't buy this washer. I also hate that I have to pull out and empty the soap dispenser after every load because it is still filled with water :(
I bought this washer because our previous Kenmore set lasted 15 years. Kenmore has gone way downhill since then as evidenced by this washer, and I will never buy this brand again. This model is terrible, and it's not even the low end price-wise. If you press delicate it *defaults* to a setting where the clothes are sopping, drenched wet when done and impossible to dry unless you hand-wring the water out first! It does not use enough water to rinse out a normal high efficiency amount of detergent and fabric softener unless you choose deep fill (which is not the point of a water-saving washer) and deep fill is not even an option with every wash setting. The matching dryer is even worse. I think anyone who positively reviewed these machines may have recently received them and will have a different opinion after they live with them for awhile.
Very disappointed with this washer. After a year using this piece of junk we decided to complain. no water in the tube. This machine has a glass lid so I decided one day to shine a flashlight in the washer to take a peak as to what the machine was doing. Well guess what, there was not even enough water in the tube to cover my clothes. THIS CAN'T BE RIGHT. I continued to watch and to my surprise all the clothes did was swish back and forth dry not even moving hardly at all. Called for a service and the service guy took one look and said yup that's normal. He told me if I wanted more water I could add water with another hose or bucket. That's not right. Sears help center refuses to help. The only thing they would do is order another service call. Another sick day from work to be home for the service guy. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE HE WASHERS they are anything but High Efficiency. Who ever did the research on this on these machines should be fired. I have been doing business with sears for over 40 Years and to be dumped on by them is very disappointing. If you are reading this review and are thinking about buying a HE washer STOP you will not like it. Says you can wash 21 towels but you can't the water will not cover them. Ask for a demonstration before you buy. I will recap after my second service call. Sears....Please help. Take this piece of junk back and let's make a deal on a different model. I paid lots of money on a warranty also..
Terrible product do not buy!!
We purchased this washer a year an a half ago, and have had problems with it since the first day. The problem is that very dark clothes come out spotted with lint. It is a design flaw that Kenmore refuses to take responsibility for.
After several months of dealing with this problem, I contacted Sears service, since we purchased a service contract for it. We were told we needed to wait a year before they would come out to take a look since it "sounds like the washer is working correctly", even though it wasn't and to this day still does not.
A year went by last October and we finally got a service tech to come out to take a look. He checked it out and reported that "the machine is working as designed, in spite of (our) unhappiness with it".
When I called Sears to complain about it, they said that since the tech said the machine was working as designed (which suggests a design flaw) there was NOTHING they were willing to do about it.
Upon visiting forums regarding this product, many users suggest removing clothes that are marked with lint and wiping them with a wet washcloth, which we have to do with every dark load. We've tried many different types of detergent, but the problem persists (because it is not a problem with the detergent, but with the design of the washer).
We are very disappointed with this product, and more disappointed with Sears' unwillingness to offer a solution. This machine is designed poorly, and should be recalled. Do Not Purchase it.
