Good looking trim kit for the price

First of all, I can categorically state that this is the right 27" stainless trim kit for the Kenmore Elite 79393 2.2 cu. ft. Counter Top Microwave Oven. It looks quite good. The venting is hidden, so no visible vents to collect dust. The metal supports are well made, and the frame has a stainless-steel veneer that matches the microwave. However, the rest of the frame is black plastic, and it shows in spots, especially along the sides, where there's a 1/2" gap on each side. Note that all microwaves have this gap to account for space needed by the door hinge when opened (on the right side it's just so things look symmetric). However, high-end frames are all stainless or aluminum, and have tighter tolerances, so it's not so noticeable. The install instructions are pretty clear, but the install is a bit difficult. The microwave needs 24-3/4" width, our cabinet was 25-1/4", so no issues there. However, the frame has very critical requirements. The opening must be 17" high. Widthwise, the frame extends about 1/2" sideways (the aforementioned "gap") and 1/4" deep along the sides of the microwave. We needed to take a router to the front of the cabinet to widen the very front of the opening to about 26-1/4". With that cabinet prep work done, installation was trivial. We also noticed some minor errors in the instructions: 1. The picture showing how to apply the plastic cover to the side vent doesn't match the microwave. However, if you turn the plastic cover 90-degrees it just fits. 2. The cabinet depth requirement is about 2 inches more than needed. 3. The cabinet width requirement of 26-11/32" is more than needed (see above). At minimum, the opening only needs to be about 24-3/4", and the front needs to be routed out to a minimum of about 26-1/4" at a 1/4" depth.

Worst ever

Worst microwave you could imagine. Horible controls. Burns popcorn. Stays running once done.

Do not buy

If you're like me, you don't want to pay 190 bucks on trim and this was a good price. You reverse looked up the matching microwave Kenmore Elite 79393. The problem is, the microwave is extremely dangerous!! It runs when you open the door. Mine was not heating food out of the box, the magnetron continued to hum when I open the door, also the cooling fan did not run. Other users report similar experiences. Do not buy.

They're a mess at customer pick up

Went to pick it up from store and although the young person helping me was nice and polite, they had trouble locating my part and I was kept waiting 20 minutes
