Sleek, Chic, and Quiet
I now understand how the negative reviews about poor cleaning are unjustified. The HE process with all brands leaves much more lint on the clothes than agitator machines which people have erroneously construed as dirt or poor rinsing. The lint removes quickly in the dryer and not only that but the clothes coming out of the dryer are even more lint free than clothes dryed from the agitator wash. I have seen no lint whatsoever on the dryed clothes and I have a cat with black & white fur so as weird as it seems, yes the clothes are very linty from the wash but it dissapears like magic in the dryer. And I haven't even used the liquid softener yet which should be even better than softener sheets. I checked other brands and it seems this is the nature of HE washes but it could be this model is worse with lint. If you like to hang your clothes instead of using a dryer, I can only assume that a front load washer would be better at this lint problem and probably stay away from HE top loaders period. I use the dryer for everything so the lint doesn't bother me and the amount of clothes I can do in one wash is fantastic so I am happy with this machine. Also, I think some people have put powder detergent in the liquid dispenser which is why they got residue as well.
DO NOT BUY this machine. This is the second machine we have tried and both have been faulty. The first Kenmore 28132 that we purchased from Searsoutlet.com in June 2016 did not fill with water at all. As we had already purchased the matching clothes dryer, we purchased a 2nd Kenmore 28132 from Sears.com. While this unit fills with some water, it does not fill enough to get all of the clothes wet. Clothes on the top can complete a full standard wash cycle and come out still dry. We have to run it on the "deep fill" and "bulky" items settings, along with 2 rinse cycles in order to attempt to clean the clothes. This eliminates any of the water saving features of the HE design. Even then, it still leaves soap residue on the clothes and does not do a good job of washing items. Once you are outside of the 30-day return window, Sears will not even take the item back on an exchange. They will insist that you have a repair technician come look at the machine. This machine is very overrated at a score of "69" from Consumer Reports.
This washing machine saves us a lot of work not to mention laundry detergent and softener products. I really like the spin cycle settings and the multiple settings on the machine wash Cycles is great also
This is our 4th Kenmore washing machine we bought in the past 30 years. It's only last for 2 years and the washer drum was making shocking noise. The Sears estimated repair cost is: $665 which is higher than most brand new washing machine. Contacted Service department and there is no help.
This washer is just a disappointment!! Do not recommend!! Everytime i wash a load it has to be wash 2-3 times !! I called customer service and all they do is transfer you to 6 different people that can’t even help ! Then they tell you there will be a fee for them to come out and check!!
this machine is a NIGHTMARE! I can't believe it's still being sold. I bought this a good 2 years ago and I have many complaints. I bought this because I like the idea of a large machine. However, the autofill does not allow the clothes to soak in water and therefore, often come out not clean. My clothes are getting stained as a result.
Additionally, this machine's spinner is very **** the clothes and ages them faster then I experienced with previous washers.
Clothes come out so twisted they are unrecognizable. Please do not purchase this machine.
After reading the negative reviews I can say I've experenced some of the same things that I put off as a freak scenario, washer keeps going into spin cycle, wash cycle is way longer then predicted, washer shuts down while clothes are still soaking wet....
I bought this about a month ago and couldn't be happier. It is even bigger than I thought and it cleans and dried so well. I didn't even realize how bad my other machines were until I started using this set. Highly recommend! Great equipment for the price!
