Purchased this item a few months ago so I've had enough experience to provide a full review. I'm very happy with this vacuum as it does a really good job on our hardwood floors. We also use it on our area rugs and it does well with those as well. I haven't noticed the high pitched noise others have referenced and I'm normally pretty sensitive to that sort of thing. I'd say the noise level seems pretty average for a vacuum. The detachable wand works great for getting ceilings, corners etc.
First off, bagless vacs are dumb: you have to dump the canister and the dirt gets all over, and half of it stays stuck to the plastic. All the weight -- including the motor is in the handle, so you're taking all that weight in your arm and shoulder. if you're old and have bad joints, it's going to hurt. (Plus side; my wife gets me to vacuum now!) The handle swivels; trying to mimic the Dyson Ball vacs -- it takes some getting used to, and adds to the strain on your shoulder/arm. Finally, the motor emits a high pitched squeal that hurts the ears. We have to wear ear plugs to dampen the noise. Plus side: handle comes off & has an integrated smaller head for vacuuming under the bed etc. Has a telescoping handle for getting cobwebs on the ceiling. There's a vacuum relief valve to reduce the suction when needed. The vac does seem to suck up the dirt & dog hair pretty well.
We have four cats in a small apartment, I sew a lot, and my partner does a lot of indoor gardening. We have been through quite a few vacuums over the last ten years, different brands, different features. Some are great for a while, but don't last. Some just ... don't. But this one is the most fantastic combination of features, and it *****! Kinda loud, but sort of like the engines on the jet when you're landing: don't you want to hear that roar to know it's really working for you? The "feel" takes a bit of getting used to. Some things have more of a squish when you're expecting a click. There are SO many components that come apart, you have to learn which button does what. It swivels a lot, so you have to learn to trust that it can get under and around some unexpected places. We've had it for several months, and hope it lasts forever!
This is the first upright vacuum cleaner I have ever bought after several canister vacuums and I am very pleased with how it cleans. Our puppy sheds a lot of hair and tracks in a lot of mud. Our carpets never looked better.
I've had mine for about a month now. It works really good. I have 3 dogs, and this vacuum really does a good job picking up all the hair and dirt they leave behind. I didn't rate it as "5 star" because it makes a loud, high pitched noise when it runs, and emptying the canister is a little cumbersome. Overall, however. I would recommend this vacuum.
We've had robot vacs and Sharks and a Kirby, but this is the best overall combination for power, speed, versatility, and pet hair. It does a great job and is well worth owning.
