Excellent Cooktop

We have been using this cooktop for over 2 months and loving it. It's not a power house but more than adequate. I installed gas lines to supply propane to this. The conversion from natural gas orifices was straightforward. My wife stir fries mostly and she's satisfied with the power this cooktop provides. Since we have both cleaned it from cooking messes, we agreed that the cleaning process was very easy, although she'd prefer that I do all the cleaning. The stainless steel is very good, just spray with any reliable degreaser cleaner and wipe off with paper towels. It's looks brand new still, no stains whatsoever. We are keeping our electric stove as we feel that electric burners are good for certain things, especially the convection oven part, which we prefer over gas. We shopped around for this and felt that this was an excellent choice. I am surprised that this is the first review on this product. We would recommend this in a heartbeat. We also got this at a great price.............he he! Hope it helps.

valve locks ups

I purchased a Kenmore Cook Top Model #79032553411, The cook top was still in warranty and the valves failed, they stopped turning and my wife had the cook top gas still flowing till I had her cut the main gas supply off. This is a safety issue and needs to be recalled. I had Sears come out to my house and replace the valves on 6/14/18 and one of the new valves just locked up again. I called sears and guess what, $270 dollar charge to fix this one valve. My name is Olin and the original service number is 42747419 which was done on 6/14 and one of the new valves that was replaced has failed again. The new service number is 42811726. This is a safety problem that needs to be corrected.

Disappointed

|

Do not buy this cheap garbage. Only lasted 12 months. Then I called to get it repaired and the warranty expired so I had to pay for a tech to come out. He ordered the part and said it would be done in a few days. 2 weeks later no part, no repair and Sears wants to keep my money. Said it was back ordered but didn’t even know if they could get the part ever. Horrible!!! Save yourself the trouble and buy a different brand!!

Good Cooktop and Installed Smoothly

|

We purchased this cooktop to replace aged GE one. It fits the cutout and functions properly. The design is nice and with metal switch cap. The delivery and installation went through smoothly.

Don't buy this product

|

Beware of this cook top, ours broke down at almost a year in 19 days before the warranty ended. Yesterday my husband turned on the middle burner to make breakfast which we don't use that often and he said it was touch to turn but it turned on it would go past high flame and then we could not turn off no matter how we turned the **** it kept on high flame so we had to turn off the gas. I called for service and they came the very next day. First the tech turned on the gas and then walked out to his truck for about 15-20 minutes. My eyes starting burning and I had to open all the windows and doors I didnt know how to turn off the gas so I had to got to his truck to ask him to come in and turn off. He then said he didnt know what was wrong but he thought it may be the valve and he would have to order parts and come back out. The soonest they can return is 10 days from the day of repair. I found this completely unacceptable as I had just been to the market a few days before and stocked up to be able too cook for the week. Now I would not be able to cook and pay to eat out. I called customer service to see if they can give me a loaner or move up the repair date and they were not helpful at all they said this is under manufacturer warranty and they could not do. Kenmore is a sears brand so I said to them but you are the manufacturer ( I know that they source out but they still put their name on it) and you should stand by your product and keep your customers happy. The gentlemen I spoke to Louie did not seem sympathetic at all and said well that is why we scheduled the service call. All I can say is thank god my husband turned on that burner and we learned of the issue before the warranty ended. I will never buy Kenmore ever again!!!!
