I like it!

If you read the one star review, you'll note it has little to do with the oven and more about the customer's experience with Sears. While I was happy with the free delivery by Sears, this review is about the oven. It's simple, its nice looking, and it works. What more does one need? I can bake, I can broil, I can self-clean and I can warm and hold. If your cooking is simple, this oven will work for you. Lots of space around the burners - and it cooks pretty hot, pretty quickly. I also found it easy to clean quickly.

Just not as good as it used to be

I had a Kenmore slide in range for the last 18 years. It was built well and the features were great. Based on this, when my oven finally quit working, I decided to choose Kenmore again. What a disappointment. I wanted something simple without a bunch of bells and whistles that could break and cause problems. I am very disappointed in the quality of this oven. For starters, it has no side panels on it. Then when installing it, we come to find its parts seem a bit flimsy. Also, I have no idea why a loud fan runs the entire time I'm baking and then continues to run for quite some time after. My old oven didn't do that so it worries me as to why it was necessary on this oven. I read in an answer to a question it was "to cool internal parts"?? That doesn't make sense to me. Returning it now is not an option for me so I guess I'll just have to see how long it lasts.

Loud Fan

|

The fan on the oven comes on as soon as the oven is turned on and stays on for at least half an hour after the oven is turned off. The fan is loud and puts a lot of heat into the kitchen. This is not a convection oven so I don't understand it.
