Lasted 15 years

I installed the 300 series water softener in Feb 2000 and it has given unfailing service on our 17 ppm hardness water for 15 years. It recently caused reduced water pressure, so I'll just change out the resin and clean the system thoroughly and put it back in service for another 15.

Poor quality

Purchased on 8-20-12, installed on 9-6-12. Poor quality plastic part inside top of tank suddenly broken without any reason. Shot water all over room, water flooded and damaged the carpet, got on computers printers, wood desks etc. The day before we had to go out of town lucky we were still home. Waiting to see what Sears is going to do.

Was great for a year

After a year and a month. The reservoir container is cracked. The warranty expired a month ago. Called and told I could schedule service. It's $202+ just for the reservoir tank. Don't bother wasting your money. Go elsewhere.

THIS IS A FRAKKING AWESOME PRODUCT

|

This is unbelievable! We had hard water for over 4 years. Up to 3ppm of IRON and other heavy metals. Our landlord is a SLUMLORD so I bought this and within 2 DAYS, the smell and taste are GONE like a FREIGHT TRAIN!!!

The pellets with RUST BUSTER work best. The unit is perfect and the installation by RightWay Plumbing in Sedro Woolley, WA was second to none.

I love KENMORE products and this just solidified that statement.

Third Sears Water Softener I've Purchased

|

This is the 3rd water softener I've purchased from Sears since 1977. Each purchase was for a new house and the last two are still in service. I just purchased this one for another new house for us. If you are vigilant in following the installation instructions and maintain the unit as prescribed, you will have a softener that will last for many years. Great product and excellent price plus the entire unit is self-contained. There are no second and third units to connect. Buy this and you will be satisfied.

It serves its purpose

It was last one that they had and I needed it desperately and I've always had good luck with Sears products the last one lasted 10 years.
