We bought what we thought was a fairly nice grill from one of the big box store about three years ago and it is already toast. We decided to take a look at almost every grill known to man before buying. This is the one we ended up with and are very happy with it. It is completely Stainless and is not the cheap stuff. The burners can each be started on their own with the electronic ignition system. (not the push spring type but the battery operated kind) The searing unit works great. I have never used one of these before. It gets extremely hot to sear the meat before you move it to the regular grill. The flame tamers and burner tubes are also made of heavy stainless. Both the top warming rack and the grill grates are really heavy. I can tell this grill will last. As for cooking, I noticed no hot spots and it gets hot really fast. After looking at so many grills this is the only one in this price range that is all stainless....I opted to put it together myself and it took about an hour and a half. If I had it to do over again I think I would take advantage of the free assembly service. We added a cover for $37. We bought it on line at the store to save $20
I ordered this grill for my mother in law, online since in the description it said "All Stainless Steel". This was the most important feature to me as the mixed metal units rust out quick. During assembly I noticed the backs of the doors and the bottom of the lid are galvanized steel. It looked like the bottom of the grill box was made of regular steel painted silver to look like stainless. If this grill was actually all stainless I would have give it a 4 or 5 stars, but for the money it is not a good value as it is not 100% stainless. Sears needs to change their description as the way it stands now it is false advertising. I would have sent it back, but my mother in law said she would just keep it.
I have had nothing but problems with this bbq. The burners only light when they want too, on low heat the entire thing will catch on fire (yes it is clean), and the temp gauge went out after the first rain.
I called to have this fixed and the sears guy showed up and said he’ll get me a new temp gauge. That has been only 6 months and still no sign of it. The guy also told me I have enough propane and it works just fine. I told him it doesn’t because the thing catches on fire on any setting above low which on low it will not cook anything but a pre cooked hotdog.
Anyways... if you want an affordable good looking grill. Then this one is for you. If you want to use it to cook. Go elsewhere.
Great SS construction.
Does not last cost to get anything under warranty they don't stand behind it
Had this grill replaced by Sears after 1 year due to product quality. Then after 2 additional years of moderate use (avg 1 day per week), the replacement has completely fallen apart and Sears will not replace or repair. The bottom grease pan and supporting structure is low quality sheet metal and has completely rusted away. Not just the grease trap, but the ENTIRE bottom pan under the burners, which is the only thing separating the burners from the LP tank itself. Very dangerous! Save your money and buy a better quality product from a retailer that will stand behind it. E.G. Home Deport is MUCH BETTER about these issues!!
I think it is a little strange that there was no back cover under the main burner in the back exposing the tank
