Better than I expected

I've been shopping around for a new BBQ for a couple of months. Had to have a ceramic sear burner and stainless steel. There are a lot of reviews suggesting that construction is cheap, not really stainless steel, rusts out, wind can blow it over, too big of a vent space, beat up in shipping etc.etc. Well, I checked out a lot of bbq's and then looked at this one in the local store. Rolled the dice, ordered it. Delivered quickly, not a dent or ding anywhere. Assembly was easy (2 1/4 hrs, one person). All parts were there. Fired it up to burn off per the instructions. Decided to see how hot it gets with all burners full on. Turned it off at 600 f. So much for too big of a rear vent... Then I put one burner on, low and checked temp for low and slow indirect cooking. 225 f. perfect for me. I have not gotten any rust spots anywhere yet. BTW, brand W's stainless is also magnetic... I think the grease pan and door insides are in fact stainless. At least on mine, and i base that on the old sheetmetal guys test of bending between a finger and a thumb. Light gage, but stiff. Much too stiff to be galvanized steel. I think it is just mill finish rather than the brushed and polished surfaces on the rest of the bbq.Time will tell, but so far, for the money, yep I recommend it completely.

Rusting Out in 3 Years

Bought this stainless steel grill about 3 years ago, along with the cover. Grill is always covered when not in use and under a gazebo. Stainless showed signs of surface rust after one year, flame tamers (cover the burners) are all rusted out, drip pan is rusted out. Ordered replacement parts, and it is over 3 weeks and still no parts. Unit is marked made in China. Do yourself a favor by a Weber Grill it will last for ever. This one is heading to the dump!

Don't buy. Customer service is the Worst

|

After 1 1/2 years of use the Main Burner Rusted out. A The customer service people make you jump thru hoops. And don't know anything you are talking about. Even tho there is a 10 year warranty they don't want to warranty the parts. So frustrating . Never buying kenmore products again.

I only gave one star because I had to! My experience with this item is awful since it was purchased by someone else....in another State!

Solid BBQ

|

I recently bought this BBQ and easily assembled it on a chilly Saturday afternoon in time for its first ‘que that night. I’m very happy with my purchase.im giving it a 4 out of 5 due to a couple things. The front panel doors do not both sit evenly to capture the magnetic locks and the right side swings open on its own.also a few pieces were dented which shows on the side panel and inside back panel. I kept them because the delivery guy took my replacement BBQ and I needed to continue setting it up to use that evening.
I would hope that Sears would have replaced the 2 damaged panels, but because this was brand new, I’m rating them 4. Overall great BBQ aside from that.
