We bought what we thought was a fairly nice grill from one of the big box store about three years ago and it is already toast. We decided to take a look at almost every grill known to man before buying. This is the one we ended up with and are very happy with it. It is completely Stainless and is not the cheap stuff. The burners can each be started on their own with the electronic ignition system. (not the push spring type but the battery operated kind) The searing unit works great. I have never used one of these before. It gets extremely hot to sear the meat before you move it to the regular grill. The flame tamers and burner tubes are also made of heavy stainless. Both the top warming rack and the grill grates are really heavy. I can tell this grill will last. As for cooking, I noticed no hot spots and it gets hot really fast. After looking at so many grills this is the only one in this price range that is all stainless....I opted to put it together myself and it took about an hour and a half. If I had it to do over again I think I would take advantage of the free assembly service. We added a cover for $37. We bought it on line at the store to save $20
I ordered this grill for my mother in law, online since in the description it said "All Stainless Steel". This was the most important feature to me as the mixed metal units rust out quick. During assembly I noticed the backs of the doors and the bottom of the lid are galvanized steel. It looked like the bottom of the grill box was made of regular steel painted silver to look like stainless. If this grill was actually all stainless I would have give it a 4 or 5 stars, but for the money it is not a good value as it is not 100% stainless. Sears needs to change their description as the way it stands now it is false advertising. I would have sent it back, but my mother in law said she would just keep it.
I love my new Kenmore 4 burner gass grill. seriously the best grill ive had. very strong grill with nice features like the side burner. installation and assembly wasn't bad at all.
We were looking for a stainless steel grill and the Kenmore 4 Burner All Stainless Steel Gas Grill with searing side burner really met our needs.
I've been shopping around for a new BBQ for a couple of months. Had to have a ceramic sear burner and stainless steel. There are a lot of reviews suggesting that construction is cheap, not really stainless steel, rusts out, wind can blow it over, too big of a vent space, beat up in shipping etc.etc. Well, I checked out a lot of bbq's and then looked at this one in the local store. Rolled the dice, ordered it. Delivered quickly, not a dent or ding anywhere. Assembly was easy (2 1/4 hrs, one person). All parts were there. Fired it up to burn off per the instructions. Decided to see how hot it gets with all burners full on. Turned it off at 600 f. So much for too big of a rear vent... Then I put one burner on, low and checked temp for low and slow indirect cooking. 225 f. perfect for me. I have not gotten any rust spots anywhere yet. BTW, brand W's stainless is also magnetic... I think the grease pan and door insides are in fact stainless. At least on mine, and i base that on the old sheetmetal guys test of bending between a finger and a thumb. Light gage, but stiff. Much too stiff to be galvanized steel. I think it is just mill finish rather than the brushed and polished surfaces on the rest of the bbq.Time will tell, but so far, for the money, yep I recommend it completely.
It would be nice if the instructions that come with the grill included the natural gas conversion instructions. I have not used the grill yet because I thought I needed the main burner jets as instructed in the conversion kit that this grill recommended. I called Sears and all they did was transfer me between departments and no one could answer my question about the jets. Finally got online and looked at the online owner's manual and there, on page 24, it explained that all you have to do is take out the LP gas jets of the main burners (grill comes with the NG jet for the sear burner). The NG jets are pre-installed behind the LP jets! Now maybe I can finish putting the grill together and cook some steaks!
Husband bought it for me for Christmas & have already used it several times. Love everything about it so far.
Starting with the packaging,, the instructions, construction and operation/ service was perfect...
