We bought what we thought was a fairly nice grill from one of the big box store about three years ago and it is already toast. We decided to take a look at almost every grill known to man before buying. This is the one we ended up with and are very happy with it. It is completely Stainless and is not the cheap stuff. The burners can each be started on their own with the electronic ignition system. (not the push spring type but the battery operated kind) The searing unit works great. I have never used one of these before. It gets extremely hot to sear the meat before you move it to the regular grill. The flame tamers and burner tubes are also made of heavy stainless. Both the top warming rack and the grill grates are really heavy. I can tell this grill will last. As for cooking, I noticed no hot spots and it gets hot really fast. After looking at so many grills this is the only one in this price range that is all stainless....I opted to put it together myself and it took about an hour and a half. If I had it to do over again I think I would take advantage of the free assembly service. We added a cover for $37. We bought it on line at the store to save $20
I ordered this grill for my mother in law, online since in the description it said "All Stainless Steel". This was the most important feature to me as the mixed metal units rust out quick. During assembly I noticed the backs of the doors and the bottom of the lid are galvanized steel. It looked like the bottom of the grill box was made of regular steel painted silver to look like stainless. If this grill was actually all stainless I would have give it a 4 or 5 stars, but for the money it is not a good value as it is not 100% stainless. Sears needs to change their description as the way it stands now it is false advertising. I would have sent it back, but my mother in law said she would just keep it.
Purchased July 2018. Item was well packed. Went together in about 45 mins to a hour. Very thinly constructed. Heats up well and searing station is great for steaks and chops for color. Within 2 months surface rust spots started on both the left and right shelves. I do not see this grill making the 2 year mark at this rate. BTW...grill is on a deck but covered after use. So far we are happy with the way it cooks (used 4 to 5 times a week for almost 3 months) but, it will fall apart within 2 years, Paid 249.00 on sale.
I bought this a month ago and installed the Conversion Kit to natural gas. Not mentioned on the intructions, but just needed to remove the propane orifices on the main burners and replace the searing orifice with the Part #: 0830A-062
It’s working perfectly and having good cooking temperature
