We bought what we thought was a fairly nice grill from one of the big box store about three years ago and it is already toast. We decided to take a look at almost every grill known to man before buying. This is the one we ended up with and are very happy with it. It is completely Stainless and is not the cheap stuff. The burners can each be started on their own with the electronic ignition system. (not the push spring type but the battery operated kind) The searing unit works great. I have never used one of these before. It gets extremely hot to sear the meat before you move it to the regular grill. The flame tamers and burner tubes are also made of heavy stainless. Both the top warming rack and the grill grates are really heavy. I can tell this grill will last. As for cooking, I noticed no hot spots and it gets hot really fast. After looking at so many grills this is the only one in this price range that is all stainless....I opted to put it together myself and it took about an hour and a half. If I had it to do over again I think I would take advantage of the free assembly service. We added a cover for $37. We bought it on line at the store to save $20
I ordered this grill for my mother in law, online since in the description it said "All Stainless Steel". This was the most important feature to me as the mixed metal units rust out quick. During assembly I noticed the backs of the doors and the bottom of the lid are galvanized steel. It looked like the bottom of the grill box was made of regular steel painted silver to look like stainless. If this grill was actually all stainless I would have give it a 4 or 5 stars, but for the money it is not a good value as it is not 100% stainless. Sears needs to change their description as the way it stands now it is false advertising. I would have sent it back, but my mother in law said she would just keep it.
3 phone calls and 1.5 hours they still can't find the temperature gauge to send me. I'm about to load up the grill and take back. I love the grill though. How do I get help?
Got it on sale for $350. A great grill for the money. Stainless, not high end but still stainless. Grids are super heavy duty. Gets hot real fast. The side searer is great. Better than the $600 Broil King I had. Some hot spots but thats try of most grills.
The quality of the frame are not good.
Great grill, highly recommend. Hope it holds up.
Only used 3 times but grills evenly to all sides. Easy to put together.
Major design flaws make this "pretty" grill extremely dangerous. Â Have had it 3 years and don't recommend it: (1) inside has drain tray to deflect the grease from the burners to the grease pan. But it isn't angled well-grease pools on the tray. Â The grease well is also SIGNIFICANTLY undersized for the size of the grill. Â This all causes grease to pool in the grill. A few months after we got the grill we had a very small flare up due to chicken grease catching fire. Â I reached down to turn off the cheap knobs and they'd MELTED!! Â This meant I couldn't turn off the grill without reaching underneath with the fire still going. Â When I finally turned the tank turned off, the ignition wires had melted. Â VERY DANGEROUS!. Â It also uses a lot of fuel and the a door hinge broke within months.
This grill was purchased with the understanding that it included free assembly and delivery. As we received our bill, we were charged for the assembly and delivery. Although we tried multiple times through multiple visits to the local store, the situation was not rectified. Before delivery, we, therefore, canceled the order, but as of 5/26 (for an order placed on 5/10) we still have not received credit for our charge. Very disappointing!
