We bought what we thought was a fairly nice grill from one of the big box store about three years ago and it is already toast. We decided to take a look at almost every grill known to man before buying. This is the one we ended up with and are very happy with it. It is completely Stainless and is not the cheap stuff. The burners can each be started on their own with the electronic ignition system. (not the push spring type but the battery operated kind) The searing unit works great. I have never used one of these before. It gets extremely hot to sear the meat before you move it to the regular grill. The flame tamers and burner tubes are also made of heavy stainless. Both the top warming rack and the grill grates are really heavy. I can tell this grill will last. As for cooking, I noticed no hot spots and it gets hot really fast. After looking at so many grills this is the only one in this price range that is all stainless....I opted to put it together myself and it took about an hour and a half. If I had it to do over again I think I would take advantage of the free assembly service. We added a cover for $37. We bought it on line at the store to save $20
I ordered this grill for my mother in law, online since in the description it said "All Stainless Steel". This was the most important feature to me as the mixed metal units rust out quick. During assembly I noticed the backs of the doors and the bottom of the lid are galvanized steel. It looked like the bottom of the grill box was made of regular steel painted silver to look like stainless. If this grill was actually all stainless I would have give it a 4 or 5 stars, but for the money it is not a good value as it is not 100% stainless. Sears needs to change their description as the way it stands now it is false advertising. I would have sent it back, but my mother in law said she would just keep it.
Does not last cost to get anything under warranty they don't stand behind it
Had this grill replaced by Sears after 1 year due to product quality. Then after 2 additional years of moderate use (avg 1 day per week), the replacement has completely fallen apart and Sears will not replace or repair. The bottom grease pan and supporting structure is low quality sheet metal and has completely rusted away. Not just the grease trap, but the ENTIRE bottom pan under the burners, which is the only thing separating the burners from the LP tank itself. Very dangerous! Save your money and buy a better quality product from a retailer that will stand behind it. E.G. Home Deport is MUCH BETTER about these issues!!
I think it is a little strange that there was no back cover under the main burner in the back exposing the tank
Super disappointed with everything! Ordered this grill on-line and picked it up at the store. While picking it up we told them we needed the natural gas conversion kit to connect to our natural gas line. We purchased the kit they gave us. When we tried to install the conversion kit we found out it was the wrong one.
A week later I went to return it and was told I needed to go the Sears Parts Center across town. When I got to the Parts Center I was told I would need to order it on-line. The following week I took the box back to the store and asked the manager to help. He ordered a new kit and had it sent to our house. A week later it arrived and when we took the cover off the grill and found rust spots all over. We haven’t even used the grill yet!
We installed the conversion kit but the grill will not start. The instruction state the gas orifices near the burners need to be replaced with natural gas orifices.
So far with the cover, conversion kit and gill we have spent nearly $500 for a non-working rusty grill! We have also wasted a ton of time running around trying to find a Sears associate who knows what they are doing. Not sure what has happened to Sears – they use to be solid…
It worked well for the 1st 3 years, but it deteriorated rapidly. The SS grill started to flake and rust and the burners rusted through. Worst part is that the warranty is a SCAM! After the 1st year you have to pay $100 for a tech to inspect and replace the burners (which one can easily remove and bring in for inspection). I will never buy Sears again when there are plenty of companies that HONESTLY honor their warranty.
sweet when I FINALLY GOT IT , it was supposed to be build after 3 days they called said it was ready, it was still in Box, so I told them to keep it and call me when it was assembled, 2 days later I got it, love the way it works, super hot and you can slow cook too !!!!!!!
perfect for my Patio, I like the way that it came assembled, ready to go. delivery service was great, all positive. J will give 5 starts. great service Sears!!
