We bought these on thanksgiving for a steal! Got home and ran 4 loads in no time. Quiet and feature packed. Thanks Sears!
I bought this stackable washer and dryer when I was 9 months pregnant and have had it for about 2 months now. I bought this set because I was having my 3rd child and our old washer and dryer needed to be replaced, so I thought this washer and dryer set would be great because I would need to wash frequently with the new baby. It was the worst idea ever. From the moment it was delivered I was not convinced. After they were installed i opened the washer door and it smelled a bit odd, a little musty. I asked the person who had delivered and installed it about the smell and he reassured me it would go away after a few cycles. I trusted him and went ahead and did my first load. I was so disappointed when I pulled the clothes out of the dryer. I had done a load of whites, but they were not very white and did not smell clean. I went ahead and washed them again. How is it energy efficient when I have to wash each load twice? And lets not forget all the water the washer leaves in the detergent compartment! I have to be very careful when opening it because it is always full of water and spills all over my floor when I want to add detergent for a new load. Yes. It leaves the compartment full of water after every wash. And my biggest complaint besides the fact that it scares my children when it is doing the spin cycle that shakes my entire home, it does a horrible job at washing my newborns clothes! That was the main reason for purchasing this set. Every time I wash my newborns clothes, her socks and other tiny clothes get trapped under the washer door. It is extremely frustrating. If I would have known how horrible this washer was I never would have gotten rid of my top loader. Now that was a washer. It cleaned my clothes properly the first time and left it smelling clean. I would not recommend this washer to anyone who has young children. I would invest my money on a top loader for sure.
This is a great washer for small spaces. I question whether some of the complaints on this site are from paid trolls (not saying it's true, just wondering). Complaints about the door not closing properly and the Start button being hard to press are absurd. Gets clothes clean, much quieter than my old machine. Has a cool Rinse & Spin cycle. Also, I had three different pairs of workmen come for the installation (long story) and all of them were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. One man identified that the first machine had something wrong with it before he even brought it into the house, saved me time and trouble. Two things I wish were different on the machine: the choices for drying times are 30, 60 and 90 with nothing in between. Not a big deal. Also, the way the rubber rim on the inside is constructed, water collects in it after each wash. To prevent possible bacteria buildup, I stick a towel in there when I'm done with the machine to soak up that little bit of water. But overall I love this washer! Thank you Sears. All my Sears appliances have been great.
upgraded to front loader, washer we replacing came with house when we brought it 11 yrs ago, not sure how long previous owner had it. did not have to complete any service on it and when we got rid of it was still in working condition. new kenmore washer had only for 1 week, used it twice and very pleased, can barely tell that its on even during spin cycle. hope it will last just as long as other washer.
Purchased 2 months ago....electronic controls aren't working properly, won't wash clothes. Would not recommend this washer to anyone! When you call and try getting help, you get the Philippines! You ask to be transferred to the US and they tell no they can't accommodate you.....please call back.
We have had a repair person from Sears out twice to fix expensive elements that broke down JUST after the warranty ran out (we didn't order extended warranty - BIG MISTAKE). The first time was the electric board going out. The second time was a hose that cracked and spilled water everywhere. NOW I am dealing with a cracked broken door that needs to be replaced ($135). We are a normal family of five that bought this washer due to the small height fitting a space in our house and read a good review on consumer reports. DO NOT BUY this washer - you will regret it. If you do buy it, get the longest warranty possible....
We purchased this washer in Dec. 2015 after extensive research. After owning this washer for only a year and 4 months the washer is now a piece of furniture. The washer worked fine to clean our clothes but we followed all the how-to-clean the washer we still had mold and a horrible smell. Then the unthinkable happened the inner glass that sticks into the washer broke. We had tshirts and basketball shorts in the washer started it like we always do. We came home and to our horror we heard this horrible sound. Ran upstairs opened the washer huge shards of glass everywhere and smaller crumbled like pieces in the washer. We Haagen the inhome master protection and they came out evaluated it and said nothing on the inside of the washer could cause that so what ever we were washing impacted the glass and broke it. Not sure if they thought we were washing horse shoes in the washer but no matter how I tried to explain that maybe the bigger shards caused the rest of the damage because the washer was still going I was told my warranty doesn't cover accidental damage. So $600mplus dollars down the drain and my Kenmore washer is worthless. Tried to get information on if we could purchase the door or replace the glass received no help over the phone. My plan is to go into sears to see if we can get anywhere if not I will have to purchase a new washer. I learned my lesson to never purchase a front loader washer ever again. My previous washer was a hand me down and it was 40 years old and worked just fine until one day old faithful gave out and the part needed was no longer available. Against my better judgment I switched name brands and got this front loader. Word of advice if your have a family that uses a washer often this is not for you. If you live by yourself or its just you and a spouse or roommate go for it it's an excellent washer until something happens and the warranty you paid for has so many loop holes in it you get lost and the extra $200 for the warranty isn't worth it. Save your money on the warrant research and check the cost of parts before you purchase a front loader. Lesson learned.
We have had this washing machine for 4 months, it has done a great job cleaning our clothes, small and large loads. We love that it holds twice as much as our previous washer.
Washing machine is great! Customer service was subpar, the representatives were unable to answer my questions and kept transferring me to someone else.
Having some stink issues. The drain seems to produce much greater smells than the old one. Tried a couple of solutions to clear the drain and rearrange the drain hose... better, but wife thinks it's still smelly. Better than before, but perhaps a stinker.... Buyer beware.
