Seems to be be working well.
This refrigerator is quite cheap, but don't this let the price fool you. The quality of the stainless steel is the worst. After 3 months since we purchased it, front doors began to rust. This was the first time we purchased Kenmore and the last time. The warranty that they provide comers nothing, and I mean NOTHING. I do not think that stainless steel should rust after 3 months of use. I may be wrong. But when you pay almost a $1000, you expect this item to last at least a year. This fridge was never wet, there was nothing that can cause the rust. It is just the material they used. In case if you do decide to buy it, do not even dream of getting any customer support or help in getting a replacement. The manufacturer's warranty does not cover rust. We tried to clean as best as we could, but nothing really helped. Again, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It is not worth it. Do your research, by some other brand, BUT NOT KENMORE. They should be ashamed of the product they sell to people.
Kenmore 41153 25 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator - Stainless Steel:
Bought in 2015, in 2018 it Suddenly stopped self defrosting, leaks all over the Kitchen floor. It may be the same problem I now see so many complaining about.
Sears wants $125 just to come out because the warranty only covers 12 months. You can't even speak with a tech; they only steer you into a pricey house call. This is Not your Dad's good old Sears. It is now a wholly unreliable brand. I can see why they've been having a hard time surviving as a company in recent times.
I will never trust the Kenmore brand again going forward. I only wish now that some of the reviews critical of this purchase idea, were around at the time I was researching. I'm highly disappointed, save yourself.
- if a product malfunctions within 5 years and the company doesn't cover it, they are tacitly saying their products are only trustworthy for a year or 3, and you probably should question your trust in their products.
-If under normal everyday use, your product will only work for 3 years or less, then what is it you are buying? You have to ask yourself.
Before the age of the extended Warranty, a Kenmore product could last well over ten years without needing service.
Quality control was very high, and they stood behind any bad ones.
-Buying an extended warranty means, the product is unreliable passed a certain window ( in that way it seems more like a short rental than a purchase) and the actual total price of the product is more honestly, product+Ex warranty.
-we should stop this consumer culture of normalizing inferior or defective products as the new standard.
-I don't believe I will seek Sears, or it's brand products, for my needs in the future.
We bought a Kenmore side by side refirgerator and it quit running and ruined food multiple times during the first year. Had four servicemen out 2 told us there was nothing wrong with it one replaced a thermostat and the other gave us a part to replace ourselves. Now it's out of warranty and it quit again this time ruining meat that now has made the fridge unusable and all they'll tell me is that it's not under warranty. I'm having the same issue as when the four repairmen were out. It now sits outside so it doesn't smell the whole house up. Do not buy any appliances from sears as they will not warranty them or they send out repairmen that can't fix anything until its out of warranty so they don't have to replace them under warranty.
We purchased this Refrigerator in 2016 and two years later the compressor is dead. We are a two person household, not excessive fridge wear. Very disappointed, will likely never purchase another Kenmore - although when you read up on them, they are mostly made by Whirlpool.
