Laundry Done the Right Way
Saves Time & Energy
I bought this and matching dryer 81182 due to the Consumer Reports recommendation. Love. Stacked them up. Took me a while to learn only 1 TBLS of detergent (HE of course) - or less for small load! Yes, I measure it. :-) You can do spin only by turning on and not selecting anything with the dial and then picking your spin speed. I often use the bulky option as it uses more water although it's not as efficient. As a newbie I still like to see some water in the bottom of the washer when it's cleaning. Bulky won't go above medium spin speed. So I'll wash with that and then take out items I'm drip drying and then do the spin only at high so less dryer time. I regularly do the extra rinse as well. Love that I can preselect that option. I had a 30 year old Kenmore washer which was still going strong when it outlasted the second dryer and I decided to get the stacked set. It was a bit sad to see it go but I love this new washer even more. Washes great. And now I can do the big comforter at home.
We had this particular model for two years before it began sounding like a jet engine during the spin cycle. This is our third front load washer in eight years. We do not abuse the washing machine through overuse or overloading, and hard water is not an issue. All three machines we have replaced have the same problem - the bearings that spin the drum inside the machine wear out and require replacing, an $800 fix. This time I purchased a Sears appliance warranty agreement instead of replacing the washer. One part came in; two have been on backorder for 8+weeks. Currently waiting on those other two parts and have not been given a firm delivery or repair date. The washer works great, but I cannot recommend it unless you don't mind getting a new machine every two years. The only complaint I had before this issue was that sometimes the control panel wouldn't work and I'd have to open and close the door several times before I could start a cycle.
Paid for service we did not receive.
We love it so far! It takes up less space and you don’t have to bend over to takes the clothes out. Clothes are clean. We have no complaints.
washing machine was purchased to replace the *identical* model, which broke after 16 months and a required a $400 repair. The only reason I purchased the same machine again is it stacks with a matching dryer and I did not want to replace both. I made certain to purchase this one with an extended warranty.
Bought this washer 13 months ago. After having the washer for 9 months it made so much noise that a service call was needed. 94 days later the washer started make the loud noise again. When we called Service they said the warranty work was guaranteed for only 90 days and since we owned the machine for 1 year and 2 weeks we no longer were covered by the warranty. They were more than willing to send another person out at the full cost of a service call. The machine is now unusable. Over the years I have been a loyal Sears customer. I have bought tons of things from Sears...Washers, Dryers, Refrigerators, Freezers, lawnmowers, snowblowers, etc. Sears is on the brink of bankruptcy and the quality of their products is deteriorating. They have lost me as a customer forever based on how they have treated me lately.
Good quality, does a good job of cleaning.
