I've been looking everywhere for a new humidifier for my bedroom, but most of the reviews I've read on line turned me away. I purchased two from a big box store and returned them both because of the poor quality and high level of noise. I've had a Kenmore unit in my living room for years and decided to see what Sears had. I knew I chose the right one the minute I turned the unit on. Just the right amount of "white noise" to help me sleep at night. Features include 3 speeds for a manual setting, 3 speeds for an automatic setting and a timer. More than I will ever use. I'm sure this will last as long as my older unit and will run just as well. I love this machine!!! Would highly recommed it to anyone.
I ran it several nights without issue. Then it wouldn't raise the humidity above 21 according to the read-out and said the filter needed changed. I removed it and turned it over and it ran for one night (about 8 hours) and again indicated filter needed changed and wouldn't show a reading above 21. Seems like you would probably have to replace the filter at least once a week to have it function properly. I'm ordering one new filter to try again. If it performs the same way again, it will be in the trash. It's also a bit louder than I expected.
