We wanted a side by side, 26 CF+ refrigerator in Bisque. That is getting hard to find. This Kenmore was one of the few and the price was right so we ordered it. We did in home delivery. The delivery team kept up with communication and were professional. We have a large spot for a refrigerator so dimensions didn't matter too much but be aware its big and measure your space before buying. The unit looks nice on the outside, very sleek/modern looking. The buttons on the front are raised, not touch screen/easy clean but I doubt it will matter, they work well. The inside is well lit with LEDs. Both sides have glass spill resistant shelves. They do not have a plastic lip on the sides so a liquid spill could fall down the sides but any large liquid spill will overtake a small lip of a spill proof shelf anyway. There are not many adjustments for the shelves or door bins. I can see how that may bother some but we found a good layout with the provided placements and are happy with it. The door bins are a good size, 2 are deep and the bottom one is shallow to allow 2 good size drawers at the bottom. The bottom drawers have temp/humidity adjustments for fruit, vegetables and meat. The air and water filters are easy to get to. We got it hooked up to water/power and went through the set up in the manual. It was all pretty straight forward. Make sure and follow the instructions on how to prime the water pump and lines before using the water/ice. The ice maker in the door gives a lot of extra space in the freezer section, more than anticipated. After about the first 60 hours we had a full ice bin. The manual says to expect 48 to 72 hours for the first ice batch to be made. We dumped the first 3 full bins of ice like the manual told us to do. Once the initial 48-72 hours were over it seems about every 24 hours it had filled the empty bin with ice again when we were not using it. The bin is not huge but it seems sufficient for our family of 3. If we need an ice chest full we can buy a bag. There is an accelerated ice feature but we have not used it yet. Noise was a concern for us. Our kitchen and family room are open so the refrigerator sits about 15 feet from us in the same room while we are home. Overall its pretty quiet. The only noise that is louder than expected is when the ice tray is being refilled after ice is dumped into the bin. The water pump to the ice maker makes a loud growl while it fills the ice tray but it only lasts about 6 seconds so its not bad. Past that the only other thing we hear from it is ice being dumped into the bin which is immediately followed by the water pump growl. All disruptive noises are over within a 10 second time frame and only happen when the ice maker needs to start making ice again. The rest of the time it is quiet. Over all we are happy with the refrigerator. It looks good, lots of space, quiet 95% of the time and it offered us the color and layout we needed at a price we could pay. I hope it lasts a long time!
Refrigerator was delivered yesterday. After over 30 hours, ice bin is one third filled. The noise level is so bad. If the showroom had every refrigerator plugged in and they sounded like this one, you could not hear over the din. It occasionally shuts off, but only for a few minutes. Can't say if I like the interior yet as this noise issue is making me crazy. At this point, I think we are going to have to return the refrigerator. Don't know where to go from here.
After the first year the ice maker stopped working (still changing filters on time) and the lights stopped working. I had a Frigidaire refrigerator that didn't give me problems in 18 years and this before two years is already giving me a headache.
I bought this frig 3-2017 and a few months ago the icemaker quit dispensing and now it won't make ice. I have a repair man here now and says the wiring at the bottom of the door hinge has been cut. It is a very poor design. now i have to pay to fix or not have ice
Just not this one. I've had this for just over a year, and it is by far the worst appliance I've ever had. The ice maker has broken multiple times. The first time it broke, they replaced the door under warranty. The second time (only several months later), they wrapped some sort of tape around the tube that feeds the ice maker (which broke again, on the new door). The lights inside also do not work (they were broken during the last repair). I requested a return at this point, but was told that they would send out a technician to fix it (this would have been the 5th time a repair person would have come out). I didn't follow through with a repair, since it's just going to/has continued to break. The ice maker has now broken a third time (the tube that feeds the ice maker split through the repair tape), but it's no longer under warranty. I was going to purchase an extended warranty (they had sent an advertisement through the mail) but when I called, I was told it was no longer valid (but that I could purchase a much more expensive warranty that wasn't affordable). I requested a return once more, but since it's not under warranty now, they won't accept a return. I'm stuck with this refrigerator now, and I can't say it enough- DO NOT BUY. I'm also extremely disappointed with the way Sears has handled this. I won't be buying from them again.
This refrigerator is horrible! The ice maker broke (I fixed it) and now it's freezing all my food and I can't turn it down because of the "smart senor" which is NOT smart... it's ruining all my food!
this is the worst product I have ever ordered and received from Sears. I purchased it February 2017 and have had them repair it at least 10 times. mostly ice maker issues all the wires are on the bottom by the freezer door and they ripped apart. my most recent service appointment was last week and they had to replace the whole icemaker. I am so disappointed at this point I'm not sure if I'll ever buy anything from Sears again!!!
