Ice maker is just terrible!

The ice maker on this model is awful. The water freezes in the tube at the end where it's supposed to fill the cube tray. Have already had a tech come out to "fix" it (within 2 months of delivery) and not even 2 weeks later, it's doing the same thing. This is a major design flaw that Sears knows about with these ice makers in the door. They have already tried to fix it by curving the tube, but it's still freezing. I found this out from the tech. I'm in the process of trying to replace it with a totally different model, but I'm sure it's going to be a battle. Wish I had never bought it. Also, if you need another negative, when the ice comes out of the dispenser, it sprays little ice pieces all over and usually a chunk of ice gets caught in the little flap door when you stop dispensing. I always have to listen for the flap to close to make sure it did or else clear the last piece of ice. Serious waste of hard earned money.

Not the Best

|

We've had this for a few weeks now and here is what I've noticed about it. It sounds like it's running a lot but it's just a fan moving air around. That being said when it does run it is very loud. We have issues with the ice not staying cubed and just freezing together so no matter what we have selected we get shaved ice. My biggest issue though is the doors don't shut by them selves. I'll start to lightly push them and they just stop when you let go. Even a few inches away from being closed they will stay right open. You basically have to slam the door to get it shut or push it shut. Pet peeve considering every fridge we've had in the past and every one I've ever used the doors have shut by them self when over halfway closed.

Side by Side Refrig

|

this item was defected about a week after it was delivered, icemaking door doesn't stay close, so ice keeps dropping out onto the floor, ice freezes under the iceholder bucket and so at times doesn't dispense ice cube and therefore you have to manual remove the icebucket and take ice out for you to have. Repair tech ordered part but it is on backorder, so 3months and counting, so had to deal with this all summer , don't buy this refigeerator, also cant put anything tall on top shelf in refrig but it freezes solid, as told don't use the top shelf except for small items.
