More Than Enough Room
This stainless steel Kenmore side-by-side fridge is designed with a generous 25 cu. ft. of space, so you'll be able to comfortably fit your groceries alongside your household staples, snacks and leftovers.
Designed to Fit More
The SpaceSaver™ ice system puts the icemaker inside the door to give you more freezer shelf space. Now you'll be able to fit an extra pint of ice cream inside. Even tall items are welcome with the TuckAway™ shelf in the refrigerator. This shelf adjusts to give you a 19.75"-high space to fit tall containers, so storing won't be a hassle.
Organize Your Life
3 Gallon door bins with dividers help make sure you'll be able to store all the condiments, soda and more that you want. Easy-to-clean glass freezer shelves feature a wall-to-wall design to give you more shelf space for easier organizing. Best of all, unlike wire shelves, nothing will slip through the cracks.
Enjoy an ice cold...
Refrigerator ice maker failed in 2 weeks, since I bought the protection plan Sears replaced it with a new refrigerator when I insisted on it rather than send me a new door as that is the only way to repair the icemaker due to the way it is wired. The second refrigerator came from the store as they had it in stock, and that one made a high pitched noise that was annoying, Sears replaced that one as well. Third time is a charm, the refrigerator looks great, is mostly quiet, works well, and has nice features. I like it. Fingerprint resistant stainless is real stainless steel with a magnetized vinyl coating. In door icemaker failure requires a whole new door to replace and it's about a $750 part. Get the protection plan and no worries. Customer service is confusing because you talk to Delivery in first three days to report any cosmetic issues, my delivery people hooked up the water line without issue, but they stripped out the **** in the door handle. Your first year warranty is handled by Whirlpool, and they are difficult to communicate with. Go to your salesperson first for help to handle any issues. You have 30 days by law from date of purchase to return the unit for any reason. After that date, the refrigerator is yours permanently. Fridges are now complicated and expensive to repair, so I highly recommend the extended warranty, as they also are not built to last 20 years like your last one. It doesn't matter how much you spend either, none of them will last more than 5 t0 7 years, 10 if you are lucky. Whirlpool makes this refrigerator and they are rated highly by Consumer Reports, and every refrigerator repairman you ask, so you can't go wrong there as far as function and reliability. The refrigerator is attractive and so far I am happy with it, even the small ice cubes that occasionally spit out don't bother me, this is typical of in door ice makers, and the filtered water is a plus for me. The in door icemaker really does give you more storage in the freezer portion, the glass shelves are nice the top shelf retracts to allow for tall items on the shelf below, pizza storage is a nice feature, and the bins slide out just fine, the door bins are really well thought out as well. There is a deli drawer, and a humidity control on the crisper bin. It has all you need in a refrigerator with the convenience of a side by side that you don't have to bend over to dig through the freezer to find your food. Stick with it, don't accept abnormalities and you will end up with a refrigerator that works. I don't know if the reason I had to keep trying was because this model is so new... when the technician they sent out for the icemaker on the first one didn't have it in his system yet it was that new, he had to call and have a Whirlpool technician walk him through the diagnosis. So surely they will work the bugs out as more roll off the assembly line. That's my experience with this model and I will try and update it after a few months.
This model is actually manufactured by Whirpool for Kenmore. Good points, it's a very nice looking fridge, easy to open handles, doors open and shut smoothly (no heavy bang), magnetic sides and doors (I read true stainless steel is not magnetic), fingerprint resistent feature is great, simple water, ice and temperature functions, no after spill, temperature has been cooling wonderfully, great storage and space on both freezer and fridge side, love the indoor ice space saver, this fridge is seriously great in all aspect except the noise. I would say the bins on the fridge side also don't silde smoothly but that I can live with. I read other comments mentioning the noise but I took the chance with the purchase and was hoping that I could live with it, but the first week the noise ran 95% of the time. There are moments the fridge is silent but it's only occasional. I ended up ordering a different fridge brand and while waiting a couple weeks for the backorder I noticed the noise on this Kenmore probably lessen to 75-80% of the time. It's still unfortunately too much. It's such a shame. If anyone decides to keep the purchase, I notice installers misalign the handles/doors. Be persistent with having them align it because I was and the installers were able to align them eventually just fine.
We purchased Kenmore 51335 refrigerator from Sears. After few months we changed the filter and trouble started. The ice maker stopped working. Since we had the warranty the Sears repairmen came in and did the temporary fix few times. This happened three more time After two different visit from Sears. They still weren't able to fix it. And since our warranty was expired by then we had to pay $75 out of pocket and they finally told us itvis the manufacturer defective , but they refused to fix it. Don't waste your money.
got this fridge one year and 20 days ago this means the warranty had just went out 20 days ago and so did the ice maker, sears would not even do any thing to help me get it replaced, they have known about this ice makers in these refrigerators going out for a lone time and they still are not doing any thing about it for any one, i will not buy from sears for any thing again
The water and ice dispenser is a pain. The water is in front of the ice so numerous times you are hitting the water when you are going for ice and water goes all over. The ice cubes also get stuck into the dispenser area and will fall out later creating a pool in the drip tray and down the front of the fridge. The water dispenser also is not over the tray, it's flush with the front of the fridge, so after you are done filling with water it will drop down the front and onto the floor. Especially bad when you have wood floors like we do. I hate this fridge so much that I am tempted to cut my losses with it and just go buy a different brand. Oh and yesterday ice maker stopped making ice, called for service - 3 weeks until a tech will even come out to fix it.
This refrigerator was fine until about a week ago. I have had it for 10 months and the ice maker quit already. It will not fill the tray with water
