Wanted a new refrigerator that had ice and water in the door and enough drawers and shelves to my liking. Found this one, on sale and ordered it. Came on time, delivery was great on a 90 degree day. Only hiccup so far is, I can't figure out how to get the water colder.
I never do bad reviews, but I had to do this review to get the word out. If you are thinking about buying this refrigerator, DON,T! If you own this Side-by-Side and you are wondering why my water taste and smell so bad. It is in the refrigerator. I have never taste or smell water as bad as this coming out of a refrigerator. I have been trying to get this taking care of for a while now. Sears do not want to work with me on getting this fix. I have purchased another filter, which is not cheap trying to fix the problem and that still did not fix the problem. You can run all the water you want too through the line and the problem is still there. I have called the maker, which still is Sears and I am getting the run around. If you own this refrigerator Kenmore 51339, please call Sears and let them know. I have check my water from the wall to the refrigerator and that water taste great. My kitchen faucet water taste good, I just want to be able to go to my fridge get a cool glass of water or put me some ice in my filter water and enjoy. This is not happening with this refrigerator. I have had two Kenmore, different model before this one and all my water has been great. If Sears could had fixed my fridge from 2001 I would have loved it. Do I recommend this Kenmore 51339 refrigerator to my family, friends or anyone? The answer is NOWAY at all. It is something going on with the lines on the inside of the refrigerator. No good water and No good ice! I do know of another one with the same problem.
Ice maker isn't very good. It has been 2 days now and it is only half full. A temperature reading would be a nice option.
I am very happy with my new fridge. Its exactly what I was looking for
Ordered this fridge from Sears.com and the delivery was scheduled for 10 days later. I got an automatic call the night before giving me a 2 hour window and they never showed up or called to tell me there was an issue with my delivery. I received an automatic call that night at 10 pm telling me they weren't coming and I needed to call them to reschedule. Why do I need to call you to reschedule when you screwed up?? When I contacted customer service the next day to reschedule I was told I have to wait an additional 10 days for my fridge to be delivered. Hesitantly I agreed. I also went onto the website to provide my customer feedback and they still never acknowledge their error. Their only response is that they don't give discounts. I didn't ask for discount. My issue/complaint was that you don't have someone clear the day to wait for a delivery and never show up or call your customer. And then make them wait another 10 days. Also, If you value your customers then pick up the phone and say hey there is an issue with your delivery and we need to reschedule. I'll never shop Sears.com again and if I were you I think twice!!
This refrigerator is spacious and has a top shelf that you can partially slide back in case you have taller items you need to put on the 2nd shelf. The ice maker doesn't take up shelf space in the freezer, but it could use something like a drip pan on the door for when you accidentally drip water or have an ice cube fall out after you've removed your glass from the dispenser. I didn't give it a 5 star because it is a bit noisy when the water is cycling to the ice maker. I've had it for 9 months now and just about a week ago the 'change filter' light came on, so now I have to figure out how to do that. lol
