First side-by-side refrigerator we have found to fit with-in our cabinets. Does a great job. Just what we needed...will take a little time to adjust from regular refrigerator with freezer on top.
Its parts are damaged very easily
Very noisy, fan seems to run constantly. Had technician come to check it out and said this was normal. Would not buy this model again.
The refrigerator looks nice but the inside capacity is smaller than I expected. I can make do with that, the problem began when I saw a roach in my home--unclear the how/why but killed it no big deal. Again we began seeing roaches and trying while spraying cleaning still trying to figure out where they are coming from. In September when I went to change the wate filter, roaches poured out of the compartment. I cannot even begin to say how FURIOUS I AM about this. While purchased this item brand new, I am not sure if it was refurbirshed, did this come from a Sears or a Kenmore warehouse. For that reason, I will not be purchasing from either again; I wish that I could post the pictures that I took and had to call an exterminator to come in because not realizing that the roaches were in the area of the motor and now desparatley trying to keep it contained and because it's my kitchen were I cook....I will NEVER, NEVER comeback.
Would not recommend. This refrigerator is noisy. You can hear this thing running in the next room. Now I wish I had my Maytag refrigerator repaired.
Sears, who used to be an honest and reputable company, has obviously learned to compete like the other "hounds" in a way that is "less than honest" or "fair" to the consumer. The $88.23 we paid for delivery was for "delivery and set up" which included the icemaker hook up but not to the water line. Icemaker hookup was not even mentioned by the delivery men. They were supposed to hook it up with the tubing that was sold to us. It took us 2 days to get it hooked up. And then, the Cashier sold us the wrong tubing for the icemaker even though we told her it wouldn't work. She said "they will need this if they are going to be hooking up the icemaker". We paid $9.99 for that tubing that we couldn't use!
As for the refrigerator: don't know about the icemaker yet. The frig seems to be cold and runs a little on the LOUD side but nothing we can't get used to. Our old frig (25 years old) was a little loud. It had freezer on top which held more than this side by side, but again, we can get used to it.
When purchasing side by side, make sure you don't put the frig (right side) door close to a wall or you can't open door wide enough to take out shelves or drawers or to put in wide trays, etc.
I would recommend frig but not Sears anymore. Used to buy from Sears all the time. Now they are the same category as all the rest and only out for themselves.
Probably out of necessity, in order to "survive and thrive", is why Sears had to start competing in this "DOG EAT DOG" world! Too bad for consumers!
