We bought this for our new home we built. Have had it 1.5 months now. It was delivered on time with great service. Started making ice only a few hours after being plugged in. The space is very usable, much more so than other brands and models we looked at. My favorite aspects are the large deli drawer, door shelves for gallon storage, and in door icemaker. It really does open up the rest of the freezer, and the pyramid ice really packs well so that it holds a lot of ice in a small space. I still haven't ever filled either fridge or freezer side - there is tons of space. Highly recommend this fridge.
Luckily the great people at my Hometown Sears are working with me to return this refrigerator. The fan for the air filter is so loud and annoying I can hear it in my bedroom! And it runs practically ALL THE TIME! There is no way I can live the next 10 years with this refrigerator, so back it goes! If you live in house where you enjoy the quiet and solitude, don't have the TV running all day long and you value your sanity you will skip this refrigerator. After finding out what a huge mistake I made with this item I have come to learn through my quest that quiet refrigerators don't really exist anymore. There are many web articles and forums that focus entirely on finding a quiet fridge in the 21st century. Evidently, the extra noise comes from all the extra bells and whistles that are equipped on the fridges these days. It's pretty sad when you can purchase a dishwasher that is so quiet you can't even tell it's on when it runs to only be driven insane by a noisy refrigerator! Why can't manufacturers put as much attention into creating a quiet fridge as they do the new dishwashers? After reading many comments on the internet, the manufacturers really should be listening. Another problem is if you ever drink out of a smaller drinking cup you will have problems with the design of the water and ice dispenser. The water dispenser basically sticks out past the rim of my glass and I have angle it outward while trying to push the dispenser in the right place to barely catch the water. Also, the ice is a mess with a smaller glass. It tends to go everywhere. The layout and shelves of the fridge are nice and the ice cubes are nice size and shape. Other than that, I just don't have much good to say. Hoping the LG I picked to replace this is a better choice for me. They tend to rate well for low noise levels.
I loved this refrigerator when I first got it . 6 months in the LED lights wouldn't work in the freezer. Few weeks later the LED lights in the fridge looked like a strobe light when I opened the door .Condensation builds up in the LED lights causing them the fail . This is a manufacturing flaw .The techs came out 4 times to fix it . They even told me it was not well designed . My refrigerator was still under warranty so it was replaced with a new one. NOW my new refrigerator is doing the same thing again ! I told Sears I wanted a totally different model because this one is so flawed . But the sent me the same one I purchased. These are not cheap. I'm about ready to throw this one over a cliff and get a old style model. I'm so disappointed. This is the worse investment I have ever made
Broke multiple times in the first year. They fixed it under warranty but wouldn’t give us a replacement. After it broke for the millionth time, I called and was determined to talk to some sort of manager, but after months of being circled to various people, phone numbers, emails, everyone said ‘there’s nothing we can do.’ This is our first new fridge in 10+ years, very expensive, and we’re stuck with it. It’s absolute garbage. But sears customer service was the worst experience ever with customer service. When you sell someone a broken appliance, you should replace it. They just kept fixing it until the warranty ran out and then we’re stuck with it. We can’t afford the fixes or a new fridge. Wish I never bought this from sears. Will never buy anything from them again nor recommend them.
This refrigerator is just 3 months out of warranty and the freezer LED lights stopped working. I am trying to setup repair for it, but I don't think I should be charged for repairs because it's not old at all and I have read that this is a known issue. A local appliance repairman told me that they are seeing this problem frequently.
The fridge does have some nice features, but the things that do not work make it beyond not work the money. First the wheels do not lock so every single time we open the door the fridge moves too - and of course the kids do not think to move it back so once a day I have to push it back almost a foot.
Next the water dispenser will only work with a certain size and width cup. We have to use one hand to hold the glass where it needs to be and one to push the lever in the back because our glasses are not wide enough and the water shoots everywhere.
The one star rating though is for the customer service from Sears where we bought it. They refused to let me exchange it for a new one or to try and fix anything. I was told it doesn't have wheel locks and that I would just have to deal with it. I asked to escalate the call because it was to an outsourced help desk, and I was told someone would call me back as no one was available. And that of course never happened.
