Fresh Food, Fresh Air
The CleanFlow Air Filter circulates air through a charcoal air filter, minimizing odors and keeping the air inside the fridge as fresh as the food. The...
Prior to purchasing this fridge I was nervous about a couple of the reviews and thus far have been thrilled. The most common complaints I read were related to the ice maker and the noise of the fridge. In regards to the ice maker, it appears full at basically all times. We hosted a football game watch for ten people with that being our only ice supply, and it was about half full after the party. In regards to the noise, I think that this has been over blown. If there is literally no other noise in the house you can occasionally hear the compressor running in the fridge. However if my two year old is playing in the other room, or a television is on in the family room you cannot hear the fridge running itself. Overall we have been very pleased with this fridge, it was the only counter size fridge that would fit in the space in my kitchen and for the price it cannot be beat! I would recommend this fridge to everyone!
Freezer Door Rubs when opening/closing...had the tech look at it and he said was was a design error. not happy with the install team as well. too bad i cant return it :(
I wanted a large refrigerator that would fit in a walled-in space, without projecting out from the wall. This item was priced right, I like the brand, and it’s so QUIET! I also love that the default temperatures are just right and food that I place in the crisper drawers don’t get frost (my other refrigerator seemed to have odd cold spots). I’m very happy with my purchase and with the delivery and setup service that Sears uses.
I've had this fridge for about 3 months. So far, I haven't had a lot of issues with it running.
We had a LOT of trouble with its delivery however. It was promised on a certain day, I took a day off, and it didn't come. It didn't come the next day. We finally had it delivered to someone staying at the house (it is not our primary residence at the moment). They oversaw the delivery but are not homeowners so...when we got back we saw the sloppy work. The handles were put on wrong, and plastic hadn't been pulled off completely. The water hookup was so loose that if the water had actually been cut back on, we'd have a leak situation. And they broke one of the fridge door bins on install, and apparently just didn't put in one of the freezer shelves.
So we were there for the holiday weekend and week, and of course the moment we put some condiments into the (unbeknownst to us) broken bin, it hits the floor, busts open the glass bottles and cracks the bin. We also had to make the leaning tower of Pisa in the freezer. I understand that things like this happen. After the debacle of getting the fridge days after it was promised, they gave us a small rebate.
Now, I go to find a new shelf and bin, and learn it's going to cost me $150 to get them -- guess this is how they get you to pay for that "free delivery", and not sure if there are replacement parts we could use that would fit that are less expensive, and the reps I've spoken to have not been sure. I just wanted to replace a freezer shelf for less than $100! I don't care if it "matches" as long as it fits.
Frustrated with the level of service, both in delivery, customer service, and parts. The fridge is working fine for now. We'll just be working with fewer shelves than we'd like.
The refrigerator stopped working less than a year after I bought it. Problems with the ice maker and then it just stopped cooling. Lost food in the process. Service repair guys came twice and could not repair it. This was a complete LEMON!!! I will not buy from Sears anymore.
I curse this fridge every day. Impossible to utilize freezer. Stupid icemaker (which takes up too much room in a counter-depth) never works. Need more shelves in freezer. I hate it. I regret it. Don't buy it.
To soon to say something about performance
Small Fridge and limited shelves and layout options.
Let me first say that I am not a review writer but since I do look at these when I buy appliances I thought it would be good for me to give a review. I know it's a long review but I hope it helps.
We needed to replace a 14-year-old cabinet depth GE profile top freezer fridge which I loved. The problem is all the new counter depth fridges are not really counter depth... they are deeper than counter...by @ 3 inches. We have a very small kitchen with no room to spare and we have a wall on the right side of the refrigerator. We ordered a French door refrigerator and had to send it back because we could not open up the right fridge door and it stuck out way too far even though it was listed as cabinet depth. We really couldn't go smaller cubic feet (this is listed as same overall cu ft but it has a smaller fridge by 2 cu ft) as we are a family of 4 with two teenage boys and we would lose that built in look if the fridge was to narrow. Also, the smaller fridges still were too deep so it didn't solve the "counter depth" issue.
The appliance lady in Sears recommended this one saying the doors were flush when they opened. None others like this anymore. Side by side was not my first choice and did not want water dispenser but did not come without. I went home, did some measuring and read reviews. We decided to go ahead based on price, depth measurements and the sales woman understanding that we needed a fridge with doors that when opened were flush with the fridge cabinet. This fridge was much less than the first fridge we ordered. I did look at the Elite version thinking a little higher quality may resolve some of the complaints in reviews, however, the dimensions are not the same. It is deeper by over an inch.
The fridge arrived delivered by very nice crew...and it fit! It looks great too. Now I just held my breath based on reviews.
Comments I agree with... Freezer could use another shelf. I just use the bigger space for meat and boxes. However, I still like it better than the pull out drawer freezer where items just get stacked on top of each other and you can't see what you have. Fridge shelves are not adjustable and milk needs to be tilted to get in and out of top shelf due to poor placement of interior light. Careful if you want to move the door shelves...Placement matters as they can touch the in shelves in the fridge. Could also use another door shelf. THe fidge does feel a little small. Also, shelves are not very deep.
Greasy fingerprints show.(it is not stainless steel) These are inconveniences I can deal with since the fridge fits into my very specific space and the fridge door opens.
Not sure about noise. I'm used to listening to the old fridge to make sure it is running correctly. The noise level is probably a bit loud so if you're accustomed to very silent appliances, this may bother you. Gave 3 stars...it is functional, it fits but it is a lower end fridge. Would give more stars with a few changes.
