I had to remove the plastic fan from the drive shaft, turn it over and put it back on in order for it to not interfere with the charcoal filter which is recommended for ductless installations.
If you need/want to use the charcoal filter (part 50183) with this hood, the hood gets very noisy because the filter rubs up against the fan. The hood is going back to the store.
Wish it would work because the hood looks great, I like the convertible aspect, the variable speed fan, and the two different light settings. However, the noise with the charcoal filter kills it.
