Just purchased this grill online and was delivered in 3 days. Assembly was very simple, took a total of 1-1/2 hours. The grill looks great! Its huge! I was hesitant to purchase this without seeing the size of the smoker first hand, but went to Sears and looked at some similar grills, so we could estimate how large the smoker might me. We are pleasantly surprised at how big the smoker unit is. It will fit plenty of ribs, a pork roast, etc. The unit heats up fast and with the 6 burners you have tons of room for your meats and veggies. The top rack is plenty big too for potatoes, etc. We grilled ribeyes and chicken wings the first night and had no flare ups. They both cooked up perfect! 2nd night we grilled chicken breasts and again, no flare-ups, came out tender and juicy! We love all the extra options this grill offers, plus it looks great!! Great service from Sears too! UPDATE: smoked a 9lb pork BBQ in the smoker and it was awesome! Temperature stayed steady all day!
I bought this Grill for my Husband just under 2 years ago, and 2 weeks ago my husband went to use it and the lips that hold the burners in place rusted away, and the the fire box also rusted out. mind you he kept it covered, with a kenmore grill cover bought at sears. we didn't purchase the protection plan for the fact is that a grill that cost almost $800.00 should last at least 10 years or more. we called sears to see if they could do anything about getting the grill fixed and they told us without the protection plan they can't do anything about it. so i called corporate and they put a customer service rep. on and she told me that if corporate won't help me she wasn't able to do anything either.I would not buy any kenmore grills.this isn't the only kenmore grill that had bad reviews other models also had issues to.
Bought this 2 years ago had nothing but problems. Warranty is a joke three different service calls problem never was fixed. Smoker is not useable, even on the lowest setting temp is too high and lights your meat on fire. The smoker door doesn't stay closed so walking away is a big no no, huge flames! Now the burner brackets have rusted off and don't even get me started on the flimsy heat shields. This grill wasn't used much and kept covered by the optional kenmore cover we purchased at the same time, oh and that was cheap **** too ripped to threads now. I used to be a loyal kenmore purchaser but no more I don't know where this stuff is manufactured but it is certainly not built to last.
Handles rusted in first 3 weeks, coulnt keep it working had it worked on 3 times in first year including a full rebuild. Smoker was to hot would not turn down to low enough heat 250---275 which caused meat to cook to fast. was told to turn the valve down on tank which would not work. Should be 175-225 to slow cook and smoke most meat. Igniters were always going out. heat deflectors were rusted out after 1 year. Bottom where tank went was rusted so bad that the tank was about to fall through in 3 years Paid $899 and it was junk buying me a webber
Cheaply made. Rusted within a month metal is super thin. Not worth half the price.
I have 400 dollars in parts in my cart online to repair my 800 dollar grill after 2 short years of using it. I cover my grill after using it with a cover better than the Kenmore one they recommend. If there is any humidity where you live, this grill WILL rust out. The "firebox" is completely useless (because of rust) to try to replace other parts that are welded to or bolted to it. The burners wont rust, but the weld that holds them in sure went away quickly. The grease "funnel/pan" completely disintegrated in a year also. Feel free to try this grill if you live somewhere with a 0% humidity, because that is the only way it wont rust. It did work like a champ until it started falling apart. The Smoker is pretty good and hasn't rusted out like the rest of the grill.
The product is fine. The service I got from Sears was horrendous!!! It all started with the website. There was numerous problems with it to start. I finally got the order placed and set delivery. I received a call that delivery would take place on Monday, January 9th between 10:45 and 12:45. I took off work to be there for the delivery. Around 12PM I received a call from Sears Delivery that they would not be able to make the delivery because the truck was not running and they had been "working on it all morning". Now it was a cold day and had snowed 2 days prior to this delivery day. I expressed my displeasure at this because I took the day off to be here and thought I should have been called earlier. It was decided that I'd call back at another time to arrange delivery. Not more than 5 minutes later I got a call that the delivery would be made and they'd be there in 45 minutes. I don't believe that the truck was broken down and miraculously was fixed in the 5 minutes it took them to call me back. When the drivers got there I had already shoveled a path and cleared my deck off so they brought it out back with straps. Using the straps the bent the bottom of the grill on both sides - which I had to point out to them to fix. I signed for the delivery and was not happy. I was going to use my smoker 3 days ago and noticed that I am short a cooking grate bracket in the smoker. As someone who has always shopped at Sears and had great confidence in the company, I am completely dissatisfied with Sears as a company and am not sure I will ever purchase anything from Sears again. It's no wonder that the name Sears is always popping up in the same breath as going out of business or financial trouble.
I purchased this grill because of the functionality. I thought I my NOT use the smoker, and guess why I was totally right on that. I have a smoker that uses wood as a fuel source. People, do yourlelf a favor, do NOT buy this gill for for the smoker feature, go out and buy yourself a REAL smoker that is NON gas, one were you can use wood or charcoal. Wood is much better, because it adds tons of good old taste, and there are servial kinds of wood that can be used, such as cherry, apple, or hickery, just to name a few. I am a top notch chef, so take it from me. The same goes for grills. Yes, gas is convenient and faster, but nothing and I do mean NOTHING will ever out due a charcoal grill, you can use wood in replace of charoal, or simply add a fue pieces of wood soaked in water to the charoal. Anyway, I had this grill for about two years now, and I do cover it. No rust, it's still in tip top shape.
