We researched refrigerators for months and I had my heart set on a French door model, but it would have required work to have the cabinet above the fridge modified to squeeze it in. Finally decided it was all getting rather silly and we needed to move on getting a new fridge as our Amana fridge of 19 years had started to make ominous clunking sounds. I had seen this model at the store and wasn't overly impressed. I had really wanted adjustable split shelves in both the refrigerator and freezer sections and separate temperature controls as that was what I had before. I also wasn't keen on using up space on the door for gallon storage as I'd rather have deeper shelves. Well we've had the fridge for over two months and I'm very happy with it. The LED lighting is fabulous. Really bright and easy to find items in both the refrigerator and the freezer. We've grown accustom to storing a gallon of milk and a bottle of OJ in the door and, despite my initial concerns, they stay plenty cold in the door. I lost space in the door for all the condiments I used to have there, but they're not used every day and so it's not a problem to have them piled up on interior shelves. The pullout drawers roll out just fine and seem plenty sturdy even when filled to the max. Although I do miss the flexibility of the split shelves, in truth I've adjusted just fine without. It's relatively quiet, maintains proper temperatures and the black exterior is easy to clean -- no hassle with fingerprints and smudges like you'd have with a stainless steel one. This is a great value. I wasn't interested in the water in the door or the icemaker taking up space and was happy to find a model that didn't require I pay more for features I wasn't going to use. I would definitely buy again.
Now sure how we got to 2015 and Kenmore refrigerators are noisier now than they were 10 years ago. Overall Quality has gone down, Build Quality is much worst than the Kenmore I am replacing. I mean seriously Kenmore. Do you think its okay for someone like me to never want to own another Kenmore after the One that's just 2 days old in my kitchen. The noise is worst than and old unbalanced window fan running on high on with bearings. 3 people have walked in to my kitchen and the first thing they notice is the refrigerator running. Don't think you won any new customers with any of them. So long Kenmore. You have sold your last refrigerator to me. Saylavee.
It has not even been two years & the motor already went out. It costed me 200 to repair. I was very disappointed.
Update- It has now been 17 months and the same freezer fan keeps freezing up and then the freezer doesn't work. My son has called 4 times in the past 3 weeks. They just get a run around. I was told that they could get it replaced if there were 3 repairs in a year. Not true!! Horrible service. Repair tech will come out next week to fix it again. Then they can apply to get their food replaced that was lost again. I used to really believe in Sears quality and service. Now my family will never buy anything from Sears again. I was on the phone with Sears about this this morning for 1hr. and 45 min. and nothing was accomplished. I talked to 7 different people and had to repeat everything over and over. They kept transferring me and even hung up on me once. What is the use of having the top warranty if no one will do anything about it.
This has frozen up many times in the 14 months since I bought it for my son and his family. Repair people came out a few times and then showed my son how to fix it. Every time it happens, all of the food from the freezer has to be removed and much of the food in the refrigerator part. This should not be happening. I have a 3 year warranty that I got before the original 1 year warranty expired. They have lost food and it is a pain in the neck!
Fridge was delivered with a part missing on the bottom which left a hole in my fridge. Every couple of weeks, my freezer would freeze over and block air from my fridge. Lost hundreds of dollars of food as a result. 6 months later and I'm still waiting for it to be fixed!!!!!!!! Will NEVER buy appliances from Sears again because neither Sears, nor their service companies care about the inconvenience to customers.

I had almost this exact fridge in white for 10 years and loved it, but needed a new one at our cabin and moved it up there to get a new one at the house to match the rest of our black appliances. I love the inside of this, like the last one. It's the outside I hate. To show fingerprints in this day and age is ridiculous to me. It is not nearly as textured as my last one and shows every print. It makes me crazy. I might as well have bought stainless with the upkeep.
