I bought this fridge for two reasons.... 1) I always run out of room in my regular fridge for both items that I need to keep cold and items that need to be kept frozen. 2) I am about to do a renovation to my home which includes the kitchen. So yes, this unit does make a humming noise, but it is in my garage. And yes there is not light in the freeze section nor an icemaker, but it has a huge amount of space in both the top and bottom sections, and that is what I needed to purchase. The price was a bonus.
Kenmore 61202 21 cu. ft top freezer refrigerator white. Ordered from Sears.com 08/02/18 delivered setup by Sears 08/15/18. Broke down in October! Called Sears for service. Tech came 11/02/18 & said part was unavailable. Sears would try to locate part & I?d hear from them in 10 business days. Got call back & informed that part is still unavailable & if not obtained in 30 days from service date, refrigerator would be replaced under warranty. Sears called weekly to update, still no part available. I Called Sears 11/28/18 for update, as I had heard nothing for a week. Still no part. They?d call within 24-72 hours to let me know about replacement. 11/06/18 still no call back. I called Sears & was told this time that a tech needs to come out 3 times before replacement happens. This is the first time I?ve been told this & no one has called to even schedule this appointment. If the part is unavailable, why would they send a tech out for nothing? Our conversation escalated as I was getting quite irritated, we?ve been without a working brand new fridge since October! No fridge for Thanksgiving! Christmas & New Years are approaching with no idea when we?re going to have a refrigerator that works! We?re a family of 5! I asked why no other service rep mentioned sending a tech out again & he had no answer for that. I asked to speak to someone else, as I felt like maybe he didn?t know what he was talking about. For 5 weeks, once each week, I?ve spoken with different reps & not one mentioned a need to send out a tech again, when there is still no part available. He refused to transfer me, I asked for a refund & that they schedule someone to come get this piece of junk off my property so I could buy a fridge from a company that could better serve me. He said that would never happen. So, social media, here I am! I have never lost my temper with a rep like I did today. Every other rep that I?ve dealt with from the start has been very understanding & considerate & has tried to get me help. This was a horrible experience today & has ruined my idea of what Sears is all about. I cannot recommend Sears to anyone for appliances knowing what I have gone through. A brand new fridge should last more than 2 1/2 months! This is insane.
Sears cancelled our order 5 times and never responded to written complaints. Don't bother trying to purchase from them.
The door seal iS coming loose by the door opening.
The refrigerator is fine. It���s missing the deli drawer. Called Sears and they said they would deliver it that day. No one ever showed up. Still no deli drawer.
The refrigerator/ freezer arrived and the freezer door and gasket are damaged. I have spent the last 21 days waiting for a replacement door that was ordered by Sears repair man. The door leaks and moisture is collecting inside the freezer. I have been told that the replacement is not available and I have to wait at least 30 days to request a new unit. NOT TO HAPPY WITH SEARS.
The fridge was several pieces including screws for the door and the people who brought it to my house made some dents in it
