I have purchased 75+ units of this just in the past 2 years for my many apartment complexes. I have had only 1 break down and it was the first week it was installed. All others are working perfect with daily washing/drying. Not one problem.
I purchased this for space reasons but needed a larger tub which it has. Not only have I been through 3 of them already because two would not work after delivery... the third one has issues as well and they are sending a repairman...which takes a couple weeks to schedule, of course. The clothes are not clean, there is just not enough water to clean the dirt out of them. I understand water conservation, but you can't wash a full load in 4 inches of water and expect it to be clean. You can't run the dryer at the same time as the washer, which is idiotic. there are no lights so you don't know when it's on or off. The **** does not move with the cycle like a standard washer so you don't know what phase of wash its in or if its close to being done. No way to add anything to the rinse cycle. its all a guessing game. No display, no lights, no way to know anything. Everytime I go to start a load and hit the start button, it turns itself off so I guess it is unable to turn itself off after a load since it's always on. I press it again and it comes on. When I do start a load, the water does not start running for 10 minutes, so I have to stand around and wait to see whether it's going to work or if its on or off (no lights). worst machine ever!!
You get what you pay for. I think the washer takes way to long and doesnt wash super well. It isnt a year old and Im having troubles.
dryer stopped heating after a year of use. don't trust this brand.
Pros: I love the capacity with this stackable, it's about 3 times that of my old stackable - and it fits in the same little closet, it's amazing; auto rinse levels mean it doesn't waste water. Cons: the washer only runs according to pre-programmed wash cycles and all of them take a LONG time - and I'm talking about 45-60 minutes unless you get the model with "express wash" which I didn't realize was an option until I read the manual or I would have paid a little extra for that. The unit looks sturdy, but I've only had it for 11 months and about 4 months ago, the chain or whatever it is that hugs the dryer barrel and makes it sping - that thing - it came off the track and the dryer wouldn't work, it just made noise, so I had to call the service department and they walked me through putting that thing back on, but it was a pain in the **** and shouldn't have happened after only 7 months. As a note, I wash about 6 large loads a week and at least 1 load of those 6 is towels.
Washer did not clean clothes, even with highest water level. To top it off, the washer would turn on and start filling with water all by itself, and of course it was designed to run through the cycle, not letting you turn the **** to drain the tub. The government regulations and engineers who designed this unit totally failed. After fruitless attempts to repair, we returned it. We are now the proud owner of an old washer and dryer which work.
This Machine has had nothing but problems the two years we have had it! Friday morning the washing machine caught fire!!!! I call Sears and they basically say so sad too bad! The thing is awful! The clothes do not clean well and the thing is a hunk of junk! This is the 3rd one we have had! The first two didn't work. The fire was the last straw! We got sent to call centers in another country and they could care less about my problems. I dumped this washer and dryer this weekend with the fear that it would catch my whole house on fire!!! We were so lucky that we were home when this caught fire, Sears should be ashamed that they are still selling this hunk f JUNK!!
