After months and months of looking at side by side, top freezer, etc. I finally ended up purchasing this because it was by far the best overall for the price. Larger side by side could not come close to holding what this fridge can hold. If you are looking for a standard fridge with a great look and some nice touches but nothing out of this world, then this is a great purchase that should be made! There are many things right about this fridge that made me purchase it: - SIZE: Upgrading from an old 20cu that served us well for 15+ years. The old fridge/freezer sections were full but with everything transferred over it appears empty still. Really love the ability to put so much in the door (even gallons of milk). Freezer could be alittle bigger, but it pretty standard for a top freezer. The 33 in width was nice too allowing it to fit in the same size with breather room! - LOOK: The smooth front white has a great look to it. The sides are still the older non-smooth look though, but you don't notice it. Love the shelving. The lighting is great with LED lights on the sides when the open the fridge and a light in the freezer makes a huge difference (which last fridge did not have) - WORKS: Within an hour set on standard it was already cold. It runs very quiet too. REMEMBER NEVER TO BLOCK THE VENTS IN THE BACK of the freezer! Crisper drawers seems to work too. One of the reasons why i chose the bare bones fridge without ice maker and internal water was both those additions takes space away from fridge/freezer cu ft storage. The fridge actually comes with a ice cube tray and bin, so i can make my own ice and with the freezer you can have so much ice made in a day that you are set for weeks! Also price is 200-300 cheaper without those additions which you can just do yourself.
This is the worst refrigerator we've ever owned. The door shelves and the perimeter of the interior shelves is made of very cheap breakable plastic. We have owned this refrigerator for 2 years and we're replacing both door and interior shelves for the second time. Some parts are breaking, on average, once each year. It's too bad because it's otherwise a decent refrigerator, but the cheap plastic parts are too weak to handle the weight of putting food on the shelves! At first, Sears was accommodating and sent us replacement parts for free, telling us that the shelving must've been defective. But now we're told we need to either pay for the parts or buy a very expensive extended warranty in order to get "free" replacement parts. I hope Sears will revamp the shelving for this refrigerator. It would be a decent appliance if the shelving didn't crack and shatter.
The people who delivered my fridge did not work for Sears and did not know this product. The door needed switched and they were not sure how to do it. I had to get the book out and show them and they still did not do it right because they were on a time limit and had to hurry. Also when you close the bottom door the pressure pushes the freezer door open. It opens enough to let cold air out but the light does not come on and the alarm does not go off.
I bought this about 2 weeks ago, and it is very quite & spacious. My husband and I like this refrigerator very much.
I like the freezer space as I didn't order the optional ice maker. I can get the items I want in there with space left over and don't have to worry about blocking the air vents. The refrigerator section is also spacious, and with the glass shelves it is easy to see all the items. I also like the full width pantry drawer. The only thing I am not as pleased with are the door shelves. The shelves can be moved, but if you move the narrow shelf from the lowest level, any large items will bump against the crisper drawers. If you leave the narrow shelf at the bottom, it is hard to see what items are on it. Overall, I am very pleased with the unit, just would like the door shelves to be truly adjustable.
