Great fridge

I needed a smaller refrigerator for my kitchen and this one fit the bill perfectly. It looks great and has adjustable shelves; (2 glass) inside and (three plastic + cheese/butter compartment) on the door. The only downside for me is that this model does not come standard with an ice maker. I was disappointed with Sears in that their online reps could not easily find the optional ice maker part #. After my persistence with a couple of calls to different reps and being transferred, someone was finally able to locate the correct part (#: W10261234). I mean Kenmore is a Sears brand right? Why so difficult?! The refrigerator is very quiet and I like that it also has a light in the freezer compartment. As mentioned in another review, the sides and top is grey not the usual black you see with most stainless steel appliances. It looks great in my kitchen!

Rusted Front just over two months old....

Sears says it's stainless steel yet it rusts just over two months old. Other stainless owned for 40 years still not rusted. Says rust is my problem and not covered. Other than rusted stainless steel, decent fridge it would seem.

Poor design, door keep open

|

When you close the upper fridge door, freezer door open due to air pressure. But only about 1 inch open. Also fridge door will not close properly unless you press it. very unhappy about this purchase. I think magnet strip is not strong enough. My old fridge close the door by it self. This one will not close it self. Very bad design. No wonder this model usually broken within two years or less. I am trying to return this.

Never trusting them again

|

Love this fridge. Bought for our garage. Stopped working while under warranty. Sears sent repair man. Service calls are free while under warranty. They charged us $89. They agreed it was in error but WILL NOT refund. They promise they will but only when the dept calls to confirm refund. It's been weeks and no one has called. Continue to call, they promise a refund, even telling us someone called and left a message TRYING to do the refund, but cell phone records show no one called. No one left a message. They have lied and I feel they stole $89 from life long loyal Sears customers. The Sears ship is financially sinking. Did this type of treatment do it? Their appliances are very reliable. This is the lowest a company could do to a customer. To unjustly charge them a "trip fee" for a product under warranty and string them along promising to refund the mistake...when in reality it's never coming. This life long relationship ends now.
