I am happy with the refrigerator. It is easy to use especially since the freezer is on the bottom because I don't use the freezer as often as the refrigerator. It is nice and quiet and easy to clean.
Don't buy anything from Kenmore Elite. We bought a refrigerator last October and it wasn't even delivered until November 21, 2014 and with in 16months the ice maker goes bad. I of coursed called customer service and warranty is only 12 months it cost over $250.00 for the repair and they don't care. When you are buying applicances which we bought a refridgerator, stove, dishwasher, and microwave my luck they will all go out now with no warranty. When I bougth these appliances I really thought they would last longer then 16months. Kenmore is made from LG so I won't be buying anything from LG or Knmore anymore. I guess if you are looking for appliances that you will get your money out of besure not to buy Kenmore or LG!!!!!!! Another unhappy customer!
Let me just state that I did not accept delivery of the appliance. The delivery was delayed by a week and I was called by a robot to receive delivery date and time. The guy called my home in the morning and gave me the time and I suggested to him that he not turn up early because I had other errands I needed to work around that time frame.
They arrived 1 hour early and proceeded to block my very busy street for that time, when I arrived they were annoyed for having to wait. They informed me they had no dolly but would cary the appliance around the back of my house.
They insisted that they could not get it through the door, though they could have and I'm certain for the last 90 years, owners of my house have received appliances through the kitchen door but they insisted on removing the hinges to my door and they did an excellent job of damaging a new paint job on the trim and the door.
They brought the fridge into my house and with only a few more assaults on the trim (and the flooring because they moved things without care,) they put it in place and it was leaning forward. I asked them if they would level it, and they began in unison informing me that the problem were my floors (which with new subfloors is fairly level) and they could adjust it and it would make no difference. I said ok, then I don't want it, it won't work for me.
They then told me any refrigerator would do that, (the one ***** installed this morning does not,) and then they got angry- they pulled the fridge out chipping the corners of my new countertops and denting the fridge. Since my kitchen was narrow, the one guy behind the fridge decided to climbon and squeeze to my counters to run his mouth in complaint while he hammered at my door, threatening to not put the door back on the hinges. He left a 2" gouge on my new cabinets from his toolbelt. I was shocked, I said what are you doing? my cabinets! he said there is no damage. I just stood there in shock, this guy was basically out of control and in my house and doing damage telling me how he wasted all this time for a delivery I didnt want. This went on for another 10 minutes before they were out of my house.
He was ranting all through the yard cursing and making personal attacks on me and using the "B" word. It was pretty astounding. Sears invites the mentally ill into my house, gives them access to my personal phone number, allows them to damage my house, and causes my husband to sleep lightly in his own bed that night because this delivery was a dangerous situation.
They had damaged the appliance by their needing to pull their pants up every 3 minutes, and treating it like it was junk. Sears has permanently lost my business when it comes to delivery. They need to acquaint themselves with Fed-ex freight.
Basically I HATE this fridge. Initial problem is the fridge door is not dampered, so it just swinging out with a crash of door items. Was told my installer, that just the way it is. Delivered on 7/7/18, and yesterday, just about 15 months later, we discovered our veggies in the crisper were frozen...$20 of food down the drain. Had sear warranty repair out on 5/28/19 for what we still believe was a defective damper cause it was so loud you could hear in the back of the house. Tech said no problem. It ran all night and didn't defrost. Now out of warranty so remove the panel for the evaporate coil ***is caked w/ice***. 15 months new...what a piece of crap. I highly recommend avoid Kenmore products...oh wait the manufacturer are all colluding in building these crapballs. Mine is an Amana made piece-of-s**t.
