Last summer our main a.c. unit went out. We shopped around for a new unit but decided on this unit due to having such great experiences with Kenmore products in the past. So far I really love this unit. The house is much cooler. The supplied remote actually shows a digital readout of the actual room temp. Some ppl. complain about the noise, but it is not as loud as last unit (different brand). I personally think that ppl need to understand that anytime you buy a window/wall mount a.c. unit there will be a certain amount of fan noise. I am totally pleased with this purchase.
We bought one of these 2 years ago, it would not get cold already this year during the hottest week of the year, so we went and got this one less than 3 weeks ago, went to turn it on this morning after only using it a handful of times in the last 3 weeks and unit will not power on at all. Will never buy another Kenmore air conditioner again, and will consider never buying another Kenmore anything ever again, needless to say this unit is going to be returning tomorrow morning and I will get a refund.
bought 6 years ago in july. after 2 years, replaced capacitor, next year, the fan, and last year the fan motor. this year is barley cools and keeps freezing up. bought another air unit, not a kenmore
Purchased AC on **** new in box for under $200, so I really shouldn't complain,but...... Worked great for 2 years, then blew the fan capacitor. Changed it out and ran fine for another 2 years. Just quit again recently, **** glad it's the end of the season. Pulled it apart and the same cap is bad. Guess I'll order a couple of them this time. Must be a poor design and there is no way I'd buy another!
cools whole room!
I've always used Kenmoore A/C's for their durability.
The people at the store were great helping me. The worker that helped me load the AC in my car was great. The problem started after I cut the AC out of the box. I followed the directions and had the unit ready for installation . I had the exact AC in my house so all I needed was to slide the old AC out of the case and slide the new one in. This all went according to plans. Then I plugged it in and pushed the start button. The thing sounded like it was coming apart with no end in sight .
I took the AC from the wall and took the cover off the top rear of unit. Looking inside I found the rear fan was apart in pieces and was the cause of all the noise.
I live in S. Fla.and it was hot. I thought about taking it back but the box is in shambles and it was late .RIGHT OR WRONG I TOOK THE FAN OFF THE NEW AC AND REPLACED IT WITH THE FAN FROM THE BROKEN AC ..
I put the AC back in and all works great..........................
