When I first purchased this refrigerator, I was taking a chance because there weren't any reviews. All I knew was that I had pretty good luck with Kenmore products in the past. I've had this refrigerator for about two months and I'm really happy with this purchase. When it was first delivered, I wasn't too sure that I'd made the right decision because the refrigerator made several 'sounds' that I hadn't heard in my Samsung. After about a week of continuous operation, those little annoying sounds all disappeared. And it wasn't that I'd gotten used to them, they have disappeared and are no more. I was reading a review on another brand and the person was told by a repairman that the noises would stop once their refrigerator worked out all of the kinks of being brand new and this one has done the same. The space is simply great. I replaced a 26 cu. ft. refrigerator with this one and CAN tell the difference. The shelves seem much deeper. And the freezer is pretty large too. Features - One of the reviewers said that the refrigerator does not have crushed ice and that's simply not true. I'm not sure which refrigerator that reviewer was referring to, but this one has cubed and crushed ice and they're clearly marked on the front of the refrigerator. Another thing that I like about the refrigerator that Sears does not even mention in the description is that several of the shelves pull out about 6 inches so that you can reach items that you've placed in the rear. That is a great feature that I just happened to 'discover' one day while looking inside of the refrigerator. Appearance - The refrigerator is very pretty. I know that sounds weird, but it really is a good looking appliance. The stainless steel is so shiny and clean and simply looks great, but it does show fingerprints very easily; however, that's an easy fix. I purchased a stainless steel clearer/polish and use it about twice a week or as needed and the refrigerator still looks brand new. The polish also prevents fingerprints. It's a great product and came from one of the big box stores. The refrigerator seems to be very well built and should last for years to come. And fortunately for me, I bought it in early November when it was offered at an unbelievably GREAT price. It was literally a 'steal'. I would recommend this refrigerator to anyone. Thus far, it has been a great purchase and I'm very, very happy with it.
We purchased this refrigerator in November 2014, within 3 months the ice maker starts making this loud noise, similar to the sound of a weed eater. You could hear it through the whole house! Still under the warranty, we had Sears come out to fix it, they fix it, then it starts making the noise again. Long story short - they came out 4 or 5 times, then a couple of months go by and the noise starts again! But this time it's one month after the one year warranty is up. I called Sears and they won't fix it, spent hours on the phone with them and they refused to fix it under the warranty and also wanted to charge me a $115 diagnostic fee to see what was wrong with it. Really? You come out multiple times and you still don't know? As you can imagine, I was/still am furious, I feel like I was scammed and we don't have the extra money to deal with this. So we lived with this noise a couple more months then all of a sudden, the ice maker just stopped working. So to sum up, Sears came out multiple times, never fixed it (honestly I feel like they put a band-aid on it to make it work through the one year date so they could then charge me to fix it or try to convince me to buy their extended warranty), and after 15 months of owning it, the ice maker doesn't even work! I never leave reviews like this, but if I can help just one buyer out there then I have done a good thing. Please buyers out there - read these reviews, I am not the only one saying this, don't buy this refrigerator and don't buy from Sears. Sears is just not the same store as it used to be.
i purchased this fridge in Feb 2016. since them I have had sears out 3 times to fix the ice maker. it will all of a sudden stop working. This last time the technition tols me it was a known probklem with this fridge and they completely replaced my ice maker. fingers crossed this is the last time because my extended warrently runs out next month. :(
After just two years, the ice maker broke. We called a Sears repairman, and he broke the seal in the fridge while trying to fix the ice maker leaving us without a refrigerator. The customer service is a joke. Their goal is to give you an endless runaround, so you'll eventually give up. It is impossible to speak to anyone who can actually get something done. They do not care that they left a customer without a refrigerator for almost a month. I am still fighting for them to replace the fridge, the food I lost, and the trouble they have caused me. I used to be a loyal Sears customer, but I will never deal with them again, and I highly suggest you don't either.
3 service calls plus return visits to install parts.
then after warranty plastic lever breaks sears parts want $100 to replace assembly!! Now ice maker quit again!! Unit is only 2 years old!!
. Computer says its waiting for me at a store, store never had or got it. Can't get my money back, all customer service is half way around the world. they just make calls and send text messages to someone, and then lie to me. You can not talk to anyone that you can understand nor anyone that can do anything about it.
I bought the entire suite frig, microwave,dishwasher, stove, refrigerator spent over 4k in May 2017. Nothing but problems with the refigerator..it will not get cold..milk is warm i called for service..ice formed in the freezer and in the frig..dude came out pour hit water to melt the ice and left...sti not working right called back he now has to order a part they will not replace the unit they just want to replace parts he doesnt know what the problem is...the ice came back and he doesnt know why..they told me that they have to replace parts 4x before they will replace the refrigerator..this is terrible its only 5 months old. I should have done the research before i purchased this brand.
I wish I had heeded others' warnings about this refrigerator when I was shopping for one. When our refrigerator was less than 8 months old, the ice maker failed. Cubes turned very wet & we had leaks from dispenser. The technician said it was a faulty main board & replaced it under warranty. He said it sometimes happens in transit. The charge would have been $457.34 if not under warranty. Less than 7 months later, the ice maker failed again - same type of problem. Sears WILL NOT STAND BEHIND ITS PRODUCT. I chatted with customer service online who sent me to product recall. They gave me the runaround and sent me to Consumer Products Safety Commission. They only investigate "safety" issues, so obviously the supervisor just gave me a phone number to shut me up. Two previous refrigerators (not Kenmores) that we have owned lasted more than 10 years without any issues. OUR FIX: we purchased ice cube trays that make small cubes from ********. After freezing, we put them in the dispenser tray & can still access ice from the door - for now. As my husband says, this is why Sears is going out of business. Sadly, we used to love shopping there, but no more for us.
Horrible, if you think it's working put a digital thermometer in it, never gets below 45 even if closed all night. Multiple service calls since beginning of aug2017 finally got approved today Oct 27th for replacement because mother board is on back order till Jan18. That should tell you something! Please don't buy save your time and money with a different option. I can't believe they still sell this model with all the complaints! Techs will even say horrible issues with this model.
Do not get this fridge! It freezes everything and when you report it to Sears they don't address the issue and say it's something else but technicians have told us that rhebdridge was made faulty. The control panel is not correct so either it is melting everything or freezing everything! DO NOT get rhis fridge. Terrible experience with sears and the parts to this fridge for some reason are difficult to locate not worth the money and headache. I can't stress it enough do not get it and if you do have it and are experiencing temperature problems it's the control panel call them and tell them to fix it we have been waiting since July 2017 to get this fixed but they keep ordering wrong parts or giving us the runaround. DONT GEt THIS FRIdge!!!
