Gets the job done, and is exceptionally quiet.
Purchased to replace a 15 year old ISE 1/2hp disposer that was on it's last leg. Pro's: It is quiet and seems to eat food at a reasonable rate. Con's: DOES NOT come with a power cord. I had to steal from old unit. If you are not keen to wiring, beware, you'll need help. DOES NOT come with the wire nut required to install the cord. In my case the old disposer had one, but it was incompatible. DOES NOT come with a discharge tube that clears the insulation built into the unit. This one is just silly. I had to spend 30 minutes at the local home store piecing together plumbing bits, which required modification just to complete the install. Time will tell if the unit was a mistake, but due to about $5 in missing / incorrect hardware my first impression is not positive. Beginner Do-it-Yourselfers beware...
Great product, with quiet pack II. We should have gone one up to the top quiet product. To be more Quiet. Our error
We've always used kenmore appliances and so when time to replace garbage didposal we went to Sears.
After owning and replacing 2 Evergrinds within 3 years, I went all out and bought this Kenmore with a 7 year warranty, two years ago. I love it so much I had my husband move it to our new house when we bought it. It's very powerful and quiet. You can barely hear it. My only complaint is it drains very slowly. Worth the money though!
Bought as a direct replacement for the same model that was discontinued. The only problem was that the insulation on the unit from the discharge tube outlet was a little thicker so the elbow pipe is a bit longer
than the previous one which threw the old connections off by a few degrees. After a little "persuasion " it all came together. Upside down ,in the base cabinet was a bit frustrating to figure out but other than that, it works great!
