PRODUCT IS WORKING GREAT. SO FAR NO PROBLEMS. PRICE WAS A GREAT SAVE. MINOR DENT, BUT EXPECTED. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I returned this item because of it's low quality. The first thing I noticed was that the compressor when running was very loud. So loud I thought something was wrong. I went to Sears and turned on the floor model and it was the same. The second issue was the very low production of the ice maker. This item is actually a Fridgidaire with the Kenmore name on it. Either way everthing about this unit is low quality. The delivery crew will set it in place and plug it in, don't ask them to level the unit because they will make a half hearted attempt leaving the unit wobbly when you open the doors. They also leave a lot of the packing material on the unit. In my case a random piece of tape to conceal a dent that I found after they left.
I have only had 9 months had a tech come out because freezer not working. The tech leaves fridge does not work at all. I contact customer service they can do nothing. The parts back order no fridge for now 2 weeks. I was told by customer service nothing they can do pretty much deal with it.
I live alone and often my house is pretty quiet, so take this into account with my rating. The refrigerator was inexpensive and looks pretty good, thus, it now exists in my house that I'm not sure if I'm going to sell or not.
My only real complaints are - the protective plastic covering the stainless steel from shipping damage is tricky to get off and requires some dexterity with a utility knife if you want to get rid of all of it without messing up your new fridge. The handles don't quite line up on mine, but I'm taking full responsibility for that one because the instructions clearly say use a screw driver (you're screwing into styrofoam) and I used an impact driver lol.
Bigger complaint would be the noise the compressor makes when it kicks on. It's an audible "POP" that says "hey guys, I'm a refrigerator, and I'm running now." I was almost tempted to take a decibel reading, but I'm not a sound engineer and I'd be using a free android app to do it... I'm sure you could take a look at the specs and find that particular compressor and look it up if this would be an issue for you, too.
The important part of the review... would I buy this fridge again, knowing what I know now and given the circumstances when I purchased it? Yes.
I've only had this refrigerator for a month, but it's been great so far. Purchased this for a basement/backup fridge. Really like the built in ice maker too. For less than $400, it's very hard to beat this unit!
I was slightly concerned about downsizing from a larger side by side but am completely satisfied with this model. I was very happy to find a great deal on this one in stainless steel, with an icemaker. I am using an additional metal basket in the freezer and a plastic bin in the refrigerator to wrangle bags and some smaller items since the wide open spaces are different from the shelving in a side by side. Delivery and installation service by the local store was exceptional!
