Do NOT PURCHASE

The reviews that I read prior to my purchase in Feb 2013 were conflicting so took a chance and purchased the refrigerator anyway. I regret my decision and hope to prevent another homeowner from going through the same headaches as we have. Like the other reviews reported, ice began to form on the bottom of the freezer and leaked which in turn ruined a section of my 2 year old hardwood floors. The repairman did mention the drain tube issue is a KNOWN manufacture defect but the fridge was not recalled, nor were we ever notified. We also had to file a claim to get the floors fixed so interested to see how long that process will take! This refrigerator looks very nice with the other Kenmore appliances that were purchased (microwave, dishwasher, stove) but it is also very loud. We also had issues with the dishwasher and glad I purchased the extended warranty. I have always purchased Kenmore applicances in the past but will not in the future.

Great features, poor quality

|

This refrigerator has great feature, but the quality of the refrigerator I rate as poor. Likes: In refrigerator water dispenser, good size freezer, door ajar alarms and other alarms are nice, great size that fits my small kitchen, looks good.
Dislikes: Quality
Crisper drawers are not sturdy and broke off one of the slide crisper sensors, just trying to push in the crisper drawer.
Shelf alignment is off. If I set something heavy on the shelf, they lean to one side or the other, depending on the shelf. Track is not precisely aligned that holds the shelves so the defect shows on the shelf, once you put something heavy on the shelf, like a half-gallon carton of milk. Also, temperature control is just ok. Milk on the top shelf in the frig will freeze slightly and get ice crystals in the milk, juice, etc. Had to replace the light in the compartment and it was so shoddily constructed that the bulb broke off in the light fixture and I had to work very hard to get the bulb out.
I love the features in this small refrigerator, but just wish better quality had gone into making the refrigerator.

DO NOT BUY FROM SEARS/KMART

|

Work great until the condenser went. They have a 10 year warranty but good luck getting anything fixed by this failing company!!! And a new condenser was quoted to us at over $1000. No wonder they are going out of business!

Kenmore 72003-a DUD

I have owned this frig for less than a month. It has been one problem after another. The latest was the temperature in the frig rising to 118 DEGREES. All my food spoiled and my medical supplies and vaccines were ruined. Sears refused to reimburse me for the medical supplies and vaccines even though I had only had the frig for 3 weeks at the time of the "event". Sears will never get another dollar of my money.

DO NOT BUY!

|

We have had this refrigerator for less than 2 months, and have had the repairman out 3 times. It does not stay cold. We've The first repairman diagnosed the control board as bad, and gave us a quick fix so we could keep using it until the board was replaced. Replaced the temperature control board, and less than a week later the refrigerator was warm again. Called repairman again and used the quick fix so we didn't lose food. the next guy that came out said he couldn't find a problem, and he left. Less than 2 weeks after that, and the fridge is warm AGAIN. Calling this fridge a wash, and going to purchase a new one from a different manufacturer. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Not cool enough after less than 2 years - Broken Control Board

|

The temperature was 10 degree higher than what displayed on the panel. Sears technician said Control Board had to be replaced for nearly $500 to fix the issue. Ouch, it's costly. It's almost half of the price I paid for this refrigerator. But I had no choice...It works now after it's replaced. I hope there will be no more problems.
