We needed a new refrigerator after our 12 year old KitchenAid was starting to decline in performance. We researched and considered several options from the "usual suspects" of large chain stores carrying a large selection of refrigerators. After reading several reviews about the "loud noises" and problems with the ice maker, I had reservations about this model. After more searching and evaluation of other models, we continued to come back to this one time and time again. We liked its' overall design. It was basic (less bells and whistles to break) and simplistic, yet very functional...the drawers glide with ease and work much better than the ones in my original fridge. We liked that the front of the doors were flat rather than contoured, just because it looks better in our space. It also has the fingerprint resistant feature, which is not available on all models. Finally, we liked that it was marked down significantly due to the holiday sale. We purchased online and received free delivery, which was awesome. The unit was delivered on time and the two gentlemen who brought it were absolutely awesome! They took amazing effort to be careful with the refrigerator and considerate of our home. They were also very friendly and professional with excellent customer service skills. Now back to the refrigerator. We have had it for a few weeks and so far it is working perfectly. Since this is our first french door refrigerator and I had read reviews about items in the doors not being kept at proper temperature, I purchased two thermometers and put one in the door and one in the freezer. So far the temperatures in both have been perfectly maintained. The ice maker has worked great and produces smaller cubes of ice (which we like), rather than the big half moon ones we're used to with the old fridge. As for the noise, and this is why I rated 4/5 overall. It does make more noise in comparison to our 12 year old side by side KitchenAid, but it is not overwhelming and overall does not bother us. When we hear it make funny noises, we just laugh and say, "well, it is kind of loud from time to time, but we bought it on sale and it keeps everything perfectly cold, so who cares." Hope this helps you if you're looking for a new fridge.
I haven't had this refrigerator for a full month and the ice maker has stopped working. It also makes a loud noise. I just noticed why the bottom shelf wasn't closing properly....it was installed without wheel;( .
I haven't even had this fridge for a month!!!! The noises it makes are ungodly. I thought someone was braking into our house last night thats how loud it was! Already has a scratch on it and the inner door flap doesn't come out of the track properly so you have to manually do it so the door shuts. I'm so pissed off. Called Sears 5 times because they kept hanging up on me. They wanted to send someone out to look at it and I demanded they replace it. I mean I have only had it 2 1/2 weeks! Finally after me screaming at multiple people, 4 phone calls and 40 min they agreed. Hopefully the 2nd one isn't a POS too. All that aside if it worked properly I would love this fridge.
Freezer drawer could have more space but absolutely love this item other than that. I keep the temperature setting in the refrigerator at it's highest which is 45 degrees and my thermometer is reading at 32 degrees constant. I couldn't be happier
I love the new French door refrigerator. I had a side by side. This allows me more room for all items. I love the freezer portion.
Huge capacity, exceptionally quiet, all you hear are the ice cubes falling into the tray. very pleased.
As they will cut water line from old fridge, be sure to have the brass adapter to convert plastic 1/4" line, to fridge screw in standard 1/4" line, you can pick one up at any hardware store, couple of bucks..
It very nice that why we bought this second one. Two in the kitchen as the same time.
