Great when it works

Bought this fridge in July and had it delivered in August. For 2 months we enjoyed it; it has great storage capacity, and really like the freezer in the bottom. However, this is a very delicate appliance for a fridge. One power outage and the whole thing stopped cooling. We called Sears, but it's been 3 weeks and our fridge is still out of service. The earliest the repair company contracted by Sears could come out was a week after our call, only for the technician to tell us he had to special order the part from LG. The tech mentioned this fridge needs a power surge protector, or the issue will happen EVERY time the power goes out. Would have been GREAT to know this from the sales person. Instead we have a $2k appliance that doesn't work that we're still waiting to get repaired.

PIECE OF JUNK

|

If there was an option for ZERO Stars that is how I would rate this refrigerator. It lasted just over 2 years and is now completely dead. Sears is still selling these refrigerators with defective (LG made) linear compressors. LG knows about the problem and they will cover parts and labor for their own refrigerators BUT anything under another name - Kenmore, they will not. And Sears is refusing to do anything. Save yourself and buy a GE or Whirlpool - that is what the Sears technician himself told me!

Stopped Working < 2 Years

|

July 2017; purchased refrigerator, along with several Kenmore appliances for my new home. They were delivered in Oct. 2017. Moved into house Dec. 2017. Refrigerator suddenly stopped working Sept 2019. Since it only has a 1 year warranty, it would cost $900 to fix, which is nearly 1/2 the original cost. Why would I spend the money when it would only replace the same faulty compressor with the same compressor. Complaining that this was unacceptable got me nowhere! Now, I have to buy a new refrigerator!

I learned my lesson about making sure I get a good warranty that includes both parts and labor!

I loved the refrigerator, but the linear compressor is garbage!
